Carers Trust is the UK charity working to transform the lives of unpaid carers across the UK.
About us
Carers Trust works to transform the lives of unpaid carers across the UK. We partner with our network of local carer organisations across the UK to provide funding and support, deliver innovative and evidence-based programmes and raise awareness & influence policy. Our vision is that unpaid carers are heard and valued, with access to support, advice and resources to enable them to live fulfilled lives. We do this with a UK wide network of quality assured independent partners and through the provision of grants to help carers get the extra help they need to live their own lives. With locally based Network Partners we are able to support carers in their homes through the provision of replacement care, and in the community with information, advice, emotional support, hands on practical help and access to much needed breaks. We offer specialist services for carers of people of all ages and conditions and a range of individually tailored support and group activities. Our vision is that unpaid carers count and can access the help they need to live their lives. Website: www.carers.org

We are deeply saddened to hear that actor Timothy West has died. Tim was a devoted carer to his wife, Prunella. We are incredibly grateful to him for the generous support he showed for carers at Carers Trust events 💙

Thank you, Chris Vince MP, for raising young carers as a group that shouldn’t be forgotten as the Department for Culture, Media and Sport develops the National Youth Strategy to break down barriers for young people. We welcome the Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sports Lisa Nandy's recognition of the importance of young carers being heard, and her commitment that the Government will specifically ensure young carers' voices are heard as they develop the youth strategy.

We've coordinated an Open Letter to the Chancellor, representing 130 local carer services in the UK. We're urging an exemption from the National Insurance hike, which could mean the difference between survival and closure for vital carer support services. Find out more:

This Remembrance Day, we reflect on the story of 12-year-old Ariel, who helps her mum, Christine, cope with PTSD after leaving the army. Ariel is proud to support her mum through this invisible injury and takes on the powerful role of carer. Today, we remember those who served and recognise the vital work of carers supporting loved ones with challenges after service 💙 #RemembranceDay #YoungCarers #PTSDawareness #LestWeForget
