Our partnership with Vision West Nottinghamshire College has helped us provide apprenticeships for local, neurodiverse young people.   On Friday, we were excited to welcome Steve Yemm MP, who spent time with our Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (enei) 'Inclusive Recruitment Initiative' award winning team. "It was a privilege to have to have visited Capita Manufacturing Mansfield and see first hand the extraordinary work they are doing in conjunction with West Notts College. They are trailblazers of inclusive recruitment and employment practises, providing gainful career opportunities for young people with disabilities. The Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) 50 year retrospective, sponsored by Capita Pension Solutions, shows that in 1974 of those people aged 40, there were 68% of men in active membership of private pension schemes and just 46% of women - this has increased to 77% for both men and women in 2024. The impact of auto enrolment is clear to see, resulting in more people saving for later life and an increase in the percentage of women who are now in a private pension. "Auto enrolment has been a success in getting more people saving. We now need to help individuals both understand what they will get in retirement and what their needs will be. Initiatives like the introduction of pensions dashboards will help, though we still need to do even more to get people engaged with pensions." Our Capita Dearne Valley team has been proudly running the National Control Centre for the RSPCA for over 20 years. Last week, they were excited to welcome John Healey, local MP for Rawmarsh and Conisbrough and Defence Secretary, to meet the team (including Buddy 🐾 )!
