About us

Bulien is a data consultancy, not an IT company. We work hard with our clients to derive the greatest possible value from their data assets. With over 40 years of experience in business, data, and analytics, our team has demonstrable expertise in providing advanced solutions to complex business problems – turning data to actionable insight. Our experienced team of business professionals hold certifications and extensive experience in advanced technologies like Alteryx, PurpleCube & DataRobot, and the hard-earned industrial experience to understand the use cases, benefits and requirements to implement these platforms as part of successful business solutions. Our objective is to partner with our clients to deploy cost-effective solutions that deliver a significant return on investment within a short period of time. Our solutions provide valuable insight and allow business leaders to make informed decisions immediately, not in months or years. Databricks Account Director Public Sector

So, today is my final day at Alteryx after almost 3 years. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being part of the data analytics world, helping Local Government and the NHS. We’ve seen great things in Finance, HR & Procurement, but what really has an impact on society & people, is what we’ve enabled in Adult Social Care, Child Social Care, Public Health, Social Housing, Cost-of-Living and Carbon Reporting - some truly fantastic outcomes. Big thanks to colleagues past and present: Lord Chris Wells, Jo Ludlam, Gary Wilson, Lauretta Grayston, Calum Williams, Andy Armstead, Ricky Smith, Jake O'Meara, Lissa Davis Jackson, Simon Smith & Adam Maskatiya. To Mark Jackson, David Westwood, Chris McEleavey and the technical team with no social life at Bulien - truly amazing partners who were pivotal in our Public Sector growth. And finally a special mention to some of the key innovators in public sector who are leading and taking their respective organisations forwards, particularly Jeanette Rycroft and Dominique Kwiatkowska for their vision and passion and long term Alteryx advocates Elisa Anastasi, Pam Colby and Nicola Woodhouse, CMgr MCMI - you are all truly inspirational and I can’t thank you enough for making the last few years so meaningful with what you’ve achieved. On Monday, I’ll be joining Databricks and Pritesh Patel where I'll continue to support Local Government, alongside the Education sector. I’ll finish by leaving this video - my favourite recorded outcome of my time at Alteryx that typifies what can be achieved with improved data analytics ❤️

Here for you - Colin and Linda's story 💛

Data Nerd | Alteryx ACE | Former professional gamer & mathematics teacher |

Absolutely chuffed to announce that I'm becoming an Alteryx ACE! 🙌 🎉 I remember when I first stumbled upon Alteryx during a demo by Bulien's technical lead, Chris McEleavey. I was absolutely blown away. (No, Chris—not by you, but by the product... 😉) I immediately knew I had to master it. I spent my Christmas holidays signing up to the Alteryx community and diving into certifications, not to mention the iconic Weekly Challenges. I may have gotten a little carried away and pushed back my job’s start date... 😂👀 (true story—#nerdlife). The Alteryx community has been pivotal for me. There's something for everyone. If you’re competitive, you can race others in the forums to provide solutions. If you want to upskill, Alteryx's esteemed certifications and legendary Weekly Challenges have you covered 💪. Prefer reading blogs or knowledge articles with your morning brews? They’ve got that too—amazing content! If you're seeking advice/solutions the community have your back. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone in the Alteryx community who helped me become a better problem solver and thinker. The community welcomed me with open arms, and no question felt "silly" — the members genuinely want to help and uplift. A massive thank you to Owen Coyle for being an incredible mentor. He helped me evolve into a true techie (which wasn’t always easy 😆). A thanks to Bulien for supporting my conquest to master the data world. And, of course, a final thanks to Chris McEleavey **ego inflates** for introducing me to the magic of Alteryx’s batch macro 😎—that was a game-changer for dynamic problem solving. The future is bright. I'm absolutely stoked to be one of the ACEs. #AlteryxACE2024 #AlteryxCommunity #DataAnalytics #Alteryx

  • The Labour Party Conference seems to be grabbing a lot of headlines at the moment so it's very exciting that David Westwood will be there to see what all the fuss is about this week. If you see him, say hi from us.
