  • The Cattel-Horn-Carrol (CHC) model offers an explanation of how different cognitive abilities relate to each other, why people differ across the various abilities, and, importantly, how these relate to academic achievement. It is the underpinning model of human cognitive ability used by educational and school psychologists to identify learning disabilities and difficulties. 👉 Read more in our latest article from Mark Abrahams, CPsychol AFBPsS, 'The science of testing for learning difficulties': https://lnkd.in/eRYVgwfB #CognitiveAssessment #ALS #EdTech

  • Informed by Aptem's analysis on the link between functional skills and apprenticeship completions, this important AELP report reveals a significant challenge: only 1 in 4 apprenticeship vacancies are available to those without GCSE Maths and English qualifications. This finding serves as a critical reminder of the work needed to ensure apprenticeships are truly accessible.    Read the 'AELP Mini Commission Functional Skills Qualifications' report here: https://lnkd.in/eW7SZKQr   Read Aptem's article, 'Functional skills modules have a negative impact on apprenticeship completion rates' here: https://lnkd.in/euT7SQik

This morning we have published the findings from our Mini Commission on Functional Skills Qualifications. The findings are astonishing - only 1 in 4 apprenticeship vacancies are now open to those without prior English and maths qualifications. Well intentioned, but flawed, apprenticeship rules are resulting in potential learners missing out on vital English and maths support. We believe functional skills should be removed as an exit requirement for apprenticeships. Read the full report here: https://buff.ly/4gq5eQR

  • How does Aptem drive better learner outcomes?   We recently sat down with Paul Fellows, Apprenticeship Manager at Marston's PLC to explore how the company works with Lifetime, using Aptem Apprentice to offer their apprentices with a high-quality experience.   Thanks to greater visibility into learner progress, they’ve achieved the following incredible outcomes:    📉 Reduced learners going past their Planned End Date (PED) from 26 to just 8 in one year. That’s an impressive 70% reduction! 💰 Delivered over £100,000 in savings.   To learn more about their experience and how Aptem made it possible you can watch the full video here 👉 https://lnkd.in/epH7pJKi   💡Curious about how we can help your organisation achieve similar results?
