Our unique application of Weathernet's SurgeCast tool is now multi-award winning, and the roll out of our new pricing capability is successfully enabling brokers to compete in the market in real-time. 🌱 Great Place to Grow: We were honoured to be recognised as a Top Employer for the third consecutive year, and named a 5-star employer for 2024 by Insurance Post - a testament to our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace. Our internal Pathfinder Initiative and the Career Returners Campaign have provided valuable opportunities for career development, and our new careers website has made it easier to join our winning team. 🤝 Brilliant Together: Brokers are increasingly choosing to work with us for their personal lines insurance needs. Events like the annual BIBA Conference and Broker Expo, provided the perfect opportunity for us to connect with brokers and demonstrate our commitment to their customers. We've also secured significant deals with partners including The Green Insurer and our recently announced 20-year partnership with Saga. 💜 Our Customers: This year, we have continued to focus on supporting our vulnerable customers through various initiatives, ensuring they receive the care and attention they need. Our immersive sessions, where customers share their experiences with our leadership teams, have been invaluable in helping us understand and stay close to their evolving needs. 🏆 Awards & Recognition: We are thrilled to have received various awards this year, which among others included Gold in Personal Lines Insurer of the Year (voted for by brokers), Gold in Excellence in Fraud Mitigation, and Gold in Excellence in Claims Technology at the Insurance Times Awards. These accolades reflect our unwavering commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. 👫 Community Engagement: We increased the number of volunteering days employees can take which has seen people generously donating their time to various causes. We've continued our support for Air Ambulances UK as our companywide chosen charity, and have supported local schools with our Laptops for Schools initiative, ensuring that students have the technology they need to succeed. ♻️ Sustainability: We were proud to be honoured with the Circular Economy Innovation Award at the Edie Sustainability Awards for our Green Parts Initiative. Following our recent update on 'Crash for Cash' scams, Ageas has identified a worrying increase in the City of Bristol. These scams involve moped riders deliberately manoeuvring their vehicles into the path of reversing vehicles, often vans, to induce an impact and then claim for damage and injuries. The incidents involving Mopeds were first reported in London in Summer 2023, but we are now seeing a change in the nature of the scam, with a 190% increase in reversing incidents in Bristol in the last 12 months. Our advice for drivers is to stay vigilant, especially when reversing. Always check your surroundings, use your mirrors, and be cautious of any suspicious behaviour. If you suspect a scam, please report it to your insurance company and the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) immediately. We’ve confirmed today that we’ve successfully concluded our exclusive negotiations with Saga plc, the UK specialist provider of products and services for individuals aged over 50. This 20-year partnership will see Ageas UK and Saga Services Limited (SSL) collaborate to distribute personal lines Motor and Home insurance products to Saga's customers across the UK. With this deal we’ll also acquire Saga's Insurance Underwriting business, Acromas Insurance Company Limited (AICL), pending regulatory approvals. Ant Middle, CEO of Ageas UK, stated, "This agreement marks an important milestone in the development of Ageas UK. Our combined strengths will enable us to serve the growing over-50s customer segment even more effectively, driving increased innovation and competitiveness." We are proud to announce the appointment of Thomas Quirke as our new Chief Underwriting Officer. With over 14 years at Ageas, Tom has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making. His journey from Trainee Actuary to Chief Actuary in 2016 and his role in creating Ageas’s Data Science team in 2022. In his new role, Tom will lead and oversee the Underwriting function, including pricing, fraud prevention, and reinsurance, while maintaining his leadership of the Advance Analytics and Data Science team. This appointment supports Ageas’s strategy to elevate its personal lines business and enhance our market-leading technical insurance capabilities. In addition, Adam Clarke will take on the new role of Managing Director, Direct, focusing on driving organic growth in Ageas’s direct business. Whilst, Adam Beckett, our Chief Distribution Officer since 2021, will assume the new role of Managing Director, Broker & Partnerships, with responsibility for the continued growth and performance of Ageas’s broker and partnerships channel. Customer Service Excellence at Ageas ⭐ We’re proud to share a story that highlights the exceptional customer service provided by our brilliant claims team. Sarah Walsh was out to get fuel on her lunch break when a deer unexpectedly ran in front of her car, causing a collision. Understandably upset, Sarah received incredible support from her colleagues and the community. When she contacted Ageas, our Claims Consultant Laura Wisdom provided an empathetic and efficient claims journey. From registering the claim to coordinating with the garage, everything was handled seamlessly. Sarah said: “It was a quick and simple process for what was not a straightforward or enjoyable situation.” Knowing how much the incident had upset Sarah, Laura even sent her some flowers.
