It's simple: If you want to check in early, then the person before you needs to check out early too. Otherwise there are no rooms for you to check into. If you want a late check out, then the guest after you cannot check in early. Rooms also need to be thoroughly cleaned and this takes time and manpower. I would rather wait for them to clean my room properly, than to demand or force for an early check in. Besides, you can always store your luggage at the concierge first and do other stuff while waiting for your room to be ready. Don't people know this?

Hahaha this isn't first-hand. First hand is when the entire line decides to treat you as a terrorist threat for the many actually harmless things you're doing just to improve the system. Imagine getting blacklisted for doing your best. I'm not even creating a ruckus like some rogue enthusiasts at a bus interchange, or playing with the Platform Screen Doors (as much as people continue to accuse me of doing so). Did I share an instance of a TEL4 SM getting aggressive and even physical at me after I insisted I took pictures at the station to look into improvement of the wayfinding signages? You'd be disgusted to hear how he defended the management, saying the CEO actually visits him. "Did I take picture of your CCTV?" "Did I take picture of your PSC?" "Did I take picture of your AMS?" I asked the SM. Of course I didn't. I'm the person most keenly aware of SSQ protocols and I stick to it. In a separate occasion, even when other industry professionals were taking pictures in KCD, I did not take a single picture within KCD. So much for actually adhering to SSQ! I'd understand if I get confronted for taking photos or videos in KCD (depots are designated as "protected areas"), but a MRT station, that is open to public? And I get such terrible reception and treatment? It's like people still don't understand just exactly how far I'd go to shake this entire industry up and to be continuously; tirelessly improving it. Did I also mention that TEL4 is currently undergoing an even more severe manpower crunch than the CCL? Yes. TEL4. The stretch; the section, not even the entire line. And the current crisis has a lot to do with the company choosing to import foreign manpower instead of actually recruiting locals for the job. I shan't elaborate. It's either "If you know, you know" (iykyk) or "I know you know" (ikyk) On to the bigger picture, TEL4 is also very isolated. I've received feedback of the poor connectivity between stations like Bayshore (TBSR) with adjacent EWL stations like Tanah Merah (TNM) and Bedok (BDK). Until TEL5 and DTLe is completed, which will connect TBSR and Expo (XPO) through Sungei Bedok (T/SGB), the easternmost stretch of TEL4 will continue to be isolated. There's always more than meets the eye. Oh by the way, I find the MSO's appearance questionable. Perhaps the jacket needed to be unzipped so he could be mic-ed up but generally, that gives off a terrible impression, similar to my observation of Rovers looking unkempt. Why is the MSO wearing a jacket with nametag anyway?

I rushed home after the Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) exhibition with my "red nose" that lasted 2 weeks to meet some young communicators online to discuss the landscape of communication undergoing a seismic shift that is propelled by rapid advancements in technology. We discussed holographic meetings, AI-powered assistants, & virtual reality environments that are all within our grasp. The possibilities are endless these days. Old bones like myself might wonder what our role is in the cosmos itself. In my opinion, while technology may change, the essence of effective communication remains constant with the rule of AUTHENTICITY, CLARITY & CONNECTION. ❓ Why should businesses not ignore localization in Singapore and the ASEAN market ❓ .... An article today by Singapore Tourism Board in the Financial Times gives light to how Singapore is one of the leading investors and innovators globally in the development of #artificalintelligence with SG$1Billion committed over the next five years to AI development as part of its National AI Strategy 2.0. *IMP UPDATE* BANGKOK: -– The Thai government has announced a three-phase economic stimulus plan, including easing visa rules to boost tourism and attract more foreign visitors. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting on May 28, as the country faces a prolonged economic slowdown, low GDP growth, and increasing public debt. The Cabinet meeting reached a unanimous conclusion that Thailand needs to generate new income by fully accelerating tourism policies, which are considered the only economic engine that will yield rapid returns. Key points of the plan are divided into three phases for 2024-2025. The government aims to generate these short-term measures no less than 3 trillion baht (81.91 billion USD) in tourism revenue by the end of 2024. l
