OTT/CTV As we work to deepen our sales teams' knowledge of a variety of digital sales solutions, an in-depth look at OTT/CTV is up next. Why choose either? The digital media landscape has undergone a significant transformation with the rise of OTT (over-the-top) and CTV (connected TV). As traditional cable subscription prices continue to increase, consumers have navigated towards internet-based content delivery platforms (streaming services), making solutions like OTT and CTV more relevant.  When advertisers are asked why they are moving more of their media budgets from cable TV to OTT (over-the-top) and CTV (connected TV) the top reasons are: Audience targeting capabilities Ability to reach audiences no longer on cable TV Measurement capabilities (in-depth reporting) The ability to reach audiences in a more personalized and immersive way.  What's the difference? In many ways, they are very similar and in my opinion, OTT will be the best choice most of the time. The biggest difference is CTV ad impressions are served on connected TV screens including those connected to gaming consoles, smart TVs, and attached devices.  OTT ad impressions can be seen on any device including televisions, gaming consoles, desktops, mobile, and tablets. Ads for both are non-skippable, targeted, and offer rich reporting.  In summary, if your target audience spans multiple devices - mobile phones, tablets, computers, smart TVs then OTT might be the best option. If you specifically want to reach households that primarily consume content on their internet-based, connected TV then CTV is the way to go.

There are aspects of brand authenticity that AI can NEVER fully replicate, primarily bcz the human authenticity is rooted in emotions and spontaneity. Embodying vulnerability, contextualising information, and responding to nuances—all of these are qualities that AI, which operates on data + learned patterns, evidently lacks. And, while AI can mimic these elements, it cannot truly contextualize them for the next best action —> For ex, when a brand responds to a crisis, the authenticity of their response often comes from a place of concern, responsibility, and sometimes even learning from mistakes… essentially because of our need to respond from ‘intention’. It’s also true that with #degenerativeAI, over time, audience may grow tolerant and more accustomed to #AI-content, potentially shifting how #authenticity is perceived. But I believe, the core elements that make authenticity truly resonate—such as human intuition, emotional depth, and the ability to be imperfect and spontaneous—are aspects that AI will not be able to genuinely replicate. This week, we launched Max - one of WarnerBros Discovery's most strategic growth levers - to customers in Asia Pacific and added 7 new countries (Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong) to our list of global expansion. A launch as large as this involving cross-functional global teams is a mammoth collaboration to say the least. Leading the extremely talented Product team on this project has been a once in a lifetime opportunity and privilege. Here is what I've learned: 🌍 Adapting Global Products and Processes to Local Markets is key: While Max is a global product, the team realised early on that understanding local customer behaviour will unlock customer delight. We advocated for and launched Mobile Friendly Plans and Features for a region with heavy mobile penetration and consumption patterns. 👥 A Strong Team Culture brings out the Best in People: High performing teams are able to navigate healthy tension while assuming best intent, debate options while balancing data with intuition, and above all treat each other with kindness and respect. I am blown away by this team's talent and generosity every day. 🎬 Content truly is the Mother of Dragons: Its hard to beat a gold standard content library: Friends. Game of Thrones. Barbie.
