An estimated 57% of young Australians have lost a precious digital photo, and didn’t have a physical copy. McCann + HERO Australia released a campaign '[Mind]ography" for Fujifilm Instax who worked with leading researchers to create the world’s first printed memories. Nicole Toum had her brain scanned with functional MRI and trained an AI to create a visual reconstruction of what she was imagining. Her memories became the centrepiece of an exhibition in Sydney, Australia. I remember my grandmother always nagging me to stay away from the sun because being dark is not beautiful. I could never understand that and till today, so many technologies and filters are designed to alter our skin tone according to what is deemed 'beautiful' which often means fairer skin. If we continue to perpetuate this belief, many skin tones around the world will continue to be dismissed as being beautiful too. McCann Worldgroup China and McCann Worldgroup Singapore has launched TECNO Mobile Global newest campaign - #ToneProud, in proud collaboration with celebrities Anggun, Johnny Drille, and Fatima Albanawi. Research has shown that skin-type bias is prevalent in commercial AI systems. TECNO's Universal Tone is an AI-powered technology that aims to capture accurate representations of different skin tones in smartphone photos. It was developed to remove barriers that can negatively impact how people engage with portraiture. Chief Creative Officer, Valerie Madon says, “I am incredibly proud to work on a campaign that not only celebrates diversity but also honours the beauty inherent in every skin tone.
