As we mark the 94th Saudi National Day, we reflect on this unique and historical era that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is experiencing. The bond between the people and our leadership has deepened over time, rooted in a shared history of unity under one flag. This bond, which has stood the test of time, is now guiding us towards a shared vision Vision 2030. We are living through a pivotal moment in our nation's history, a time that may be seen from the outside, but truly felt in the hearts of all Saudis. This is a period of great progress, as we work together to overcome challenges and achieve the ambitious goals of our vision. Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Air | طيران الرياض partners with British Virgin Atlantic to diversify #travel options Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Air | طيران الرياض announced a strategic #agreement with British Virgin Atlantic #airlines, with the aim of providing a range of benefits to travelers between the Kingdom of #SaudiArabia, the #UnitedKingdom, and wider destinations. The agreement, which was signed at a ceremony held at the headquarters of #RiyadhAir in the capital, is the first phase of this strategic partnership that will enable both companies to enhance air #connectivity between them, expand their networks, and improve their customer experience. It will also provide travelers with the #opportunity to explore new destinations inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Tony Douglas, #CEO of Riyadh Air, explained that our partnership with "Virgin Atlantic" will allow the company to provide an additional route connecting the Kingdom to the world, which enhances the travel options available to all those wishing to visit the Kingdom. He added that this partnership comes within a series of partnerships that we have recently concluded with global airlines, the most recent of which is our strategic partnership with Delta Air Lines. Today, there is increased focus by the region – both governments and the private sector – to strengthen their influence in emerging urban hubs in Africa. Among G20 economies, China and India now top their go-to list.   Three factors have led to this: The first is the rise in the economic and geopolitical clout of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. After staying in the shadows of the global power corridors for long, these nations have underlined that when it comes to the Arab world, their voices really matter. These nations, with reliable allies in the East and the West, are asserting their role in advancing the transformation of the Global South societies.   The second is the boredom and fatigue induced by the Western media’s often lazy, inaccurate, and biased reporting of the region. This, in no way, undermines of the role of journalism to challenge the status quo and there is no denying that brilliant journalism about the region did exist and still does.   The third factor is that the 200 million plus digital-savvy youth in MENA, who form about 60 per cent of the population, have their own well-rounded worldview. They are informed by social connectivity, and disappointed with irresponsible political complacence and the enduring cycle of strife in many parts of the Arab world.
