I Walk 2 Miles Every Day, and These Comfy On-Sale Sneakers Keep My Feet Ache-Free

I love a daily walk. So much so, that I’ve made them a priority in my daily routine. But I haven’t always had the best luck when it comes to walking shoes — until my mom gave me Skechers slip-on sneakers that are the most comfortable pair I’ve ever owned.

One of the first things I noticed about the Skechers was how lightweight they are. Unlike other walking shoes that have bulky outsoles and high heel stacks, the Skechers are slim, an aesthetic I like compared to chunky dad styles. Plus, I’m accident-prone, and something about added height on a sneaker makes me feel off balance, and I’m trying to avoid scraped-up knees.

The minute I put the sneakers on, I was impressed. They were comfortable right out of the box. While they have that aforementioned slim design, they don’t lack cushioning. In fact, the insole felt downright bouncy as I walked, going 2 miles in them on the first try. They also provided great arch support without compromising on that comfortable, springy interior.

In addition to the insole, the slip-on sneakers also have a mesh upper that’s breathable and flexible. I have wide feet, and I often need to purchase wide-width shoes, whether they be sneakers or heels. When my mom gifted me the Skechers, I was concerned because they were a standard width. However, because of the stretchy mesh, they hugged my feet perfectly. They’re snug but not tight and have a sock-like fit that’s not suffocating and bends and moves as my foot does.

While it seems simple, arguably my favorite feature is the slip-on design. Can I tie my shoes? Yes, of course. Do I want to? Not really. When I’m in a hurry to get out the door in the morning, the sneakers slide onto my feet, and they’re also easy to slip off when I’m tired from my walk and don’t want to unlace anything. Because of the flexible mesh upper, leaving the laces loose is fine — they still fit great.

I’m far from the only person who loves these walking shoes, though. In fact, over 670 other Walmart shoppers give them a five-star rating and say they’re just like walking in slippers. Reviewers who used to develop lower back pain when walking explained that the Skechers helped alleviate it, and when it comes to wear and tear, they hold up. A person who works 40 hours a week while walking on concrete floors says they’re the perfect, comfortable shoe.
