Drew Barrymore’s shoes would make Elvis Presley proud.

The Charlie’s Angels actress, 49, recently whipped out a pair of blue suede shoes — or rather, boots — for an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. Tall in more ways than one, they went up to about knee-height on the star and were accompanied by a skinny stiletto to boost her height. She also had on a striped button-up shirt, pinstripe pants, and went makeup-free alongside guest Pamela Anderson and show contributor Valerie Bertinelli.

Tall boots are actually one style norm that Taylor Swift, Jennifer Garner, Selena Gomez, and more stars tend to wear each fall and winter, and so are suede styles like Uggs. But a pair that’s both tall and suede is a lot less common.

Boots that cover more than just the ankles and feet are noticeably warmer than styles that stop, well, there. Meanwhile, suede and soft-looking fabrics have been making headway since before the season even began with pants, slip-on shoes, and bags.

These Dream Pairs boots are lined with faux fur, the heel is relatively flat for less foot pain, and the boot shaft “doesn't slouch down,” according to one customer. They also have something special that’s hidden to outsiders: pockets. “[You] easily can slip an ID, credit card, and a few bucks in your boot pocket without worrying about having to dig for it,” the shopper added. Barrymore’s heels looked a little uncomfortable, but good news: A smarter (and likely way less painful) option exists. Kate Hudson wore a pair of wedge boots last January, and while still lifted, they looked much more supportive.

This pair has a 1.5-inch heel, so they’re not super sky-high, and the color and texture are a good match. There’s also a full-length zipper that runs from the top to the bottom of the boot to make getting into them a better experience.

These Kenneth Cole boots are made with faux suede, though it’s nearly impossible to tell, and they also zip all the way up and down. The heel is the same height as the wedge pair, though it’s a block heel, which is even more stable than the latter. They come in black and a gray-brown color, plus sizes 5 to 10.
