These $35 Faux Leather Boots Look Identical to a $795 Designer Pair, According to 3 Shopping Editors

Since my nine-to-five is shopping, I’m always on a mission for the next great wardrobe find, and I’m all ears when a fellow commerce writer gives me a recommendation. When I caught wind of a comfy and affordable pair of over-the-knee boots from a coworker, I immediately bought them, and so did another colleague. 

Time and Tru’s Over-the-Knee Stretch Boots are just $35 at Walmart and one of the most comfortable pairs in my closet. Not only do they cost less than one food delivery order, but they’re incredibly similar to a $795 designer style from Stuart Weitzman that have been on some of our editors’ wish lists for years.

After hearing shopping writer Megan Schaltegger rave about Walmart’s Time and Tru boots, Kelsey Fredericks “knew [she] had to get them.” She’d been eyeing knee-high pairs for years but never “ended up paying what would have felt like a deposit on a house to get a quality pair.” Megan wasn’t “overly confident” that the $35 pair would live up to the designer style she had been pining for but was “pleasantly surprised” as soon as she unboxed them. 

The “faux leather looks and feels like the real thing,” according to Megan, and I couldn’t agree more. I own my fair share of leather footwear, and these are on par. I’ve had difficulty finding a comfortable over-the-knee style that didn’t feel constricting, especially on my knees. I’ve worn these nonstop since I purchased them a month ago. 

Living in a city, I need shoes with ample support for walking, and these fit the bill. The stretchy back panel is comfortable on my bare legs with skirts and isn’t too tight if worn over leggings. They’re available in medium and wide widths, which fit perfectly for one shopper who often struggles to find comfortable shoes to accommodate the lymphedema in their feet.
