Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven

Just 11 (ha!) when the series started filming, British actress Brown had bit parts on her résumé.

Since Stranger Things has taken off, Brown has become a fashion icon, joined the latest Godzilla franchise, appeared in Maroon 5 and Cardi B's "Girls Like You" video with a slew of stars and plays the titular character in Netflix's Enola Holmes movies, (which she produces with her older sister, Paige).

Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler

Wolfhard, a.k.a. Mike Wheeler, was 12 when Stranger Things began filming.

Since being cast on the show, Wolfhard has racked up credits including the It franchise (2017–2019), Carmen Sandiego (2019), The Goldfinch (2019), Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), When You Finish Saving the World (2022) and Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022).

He is also known for performing as a singer and guitarist in the bands Calpurnia (2017–2019) and The Aubreys (2020–present).

Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson

Proof that Matarazzo, 13 when he took on the role of Dustin Henderson, has grown up? He went to junior prom with his "beautiful girlfriend" in May 2019.

Beyond Stranger Things, his credits include My Father's Dragon (2022) and Honor Society (2022). Matarazzo, who began his career on Broadway, returned to the stage for Dear Evan Hansen in 2022 and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in 2023.

Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair

McLaughlin was 14 when he landed the role of Lucas Sinclair.

Off of the screen, McLaughlin announced in 2019 that he would be heading to college. He made his feature film debut in 2020's Concrete Cowboy and has done voice work for Ultra City Smiths, Summer Camp Island and The Boys Present: Diabolical.

Noah Schnapp as Will Byers

On the younger side of the crew, Schnapp was also just 11 when he stepped into Will Byers' cursed shoes.

Since joining the show, Schnapp has acted in films like Abe (2020), Waiting for Anya (2020) and Hubie Halloween (2020).

Schnapp launched To Be Honest (TBH) in 2021. His snack food company offers a sustainably sourced chocolate hazelnut spread that's made without palm oil.

In January 2023, Schnapp came out as gay after "being scared in the closet for 18 years."

Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler

Dyer, one of the older "kids" on the show, can say Stranger Things not only changed her life professionally, but also personally: She's been linked to costar Charlie Heaton since the two first sparked dating rumors in 2017.

In addition to the Netflix series, Dyer has appeared in the films Velvet Buzzsaw (2019), Yes, God, Yes (2019), Tuscaloosa (2019) and Things Heard & Seen (2021).

Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers

Heaton's part as defensive big brother Jonathan Byers was his breakout role.

Since then, Heaton has landed film roles including 2020's The New Mutants, 2021's No Future and The Souvenir: Part II that same year.

Joe Keery as Steve Harrington

The oldest of the young bunch, Keery plays heartthrob-with-a-heart Steve Harrington.

Of his younger costars, he told PEOPLE in 2019, "I wish they would stay as little kids forever. No, they're amazing. It's really crazy because you come in the first year and you're not really sure if you're going to work with these people again, and when you come back, these little kids are like full-blown adults. It's been awesome to ... see them handle everything with such grace."

Keery has also starred in 2020's Spree and appeared in the 2021 film Free Guy. He has joined the ensemble cast for FX's anthology series Fargo's fifth season.

Keery has been dating actress Maika Monroe since 2017.
