Taylor Swift’s Worn This Timeless Shoe Style for Years, so I Finally Added a $26 Lookalike Pair to My Closet

As a shopping writer and self-proclaimed Swiftie, I’ve always kept a watchful eye on Taylor Swift’s street-style looks. Aside from her fashion choices often being relatively attainable, she gravitates toward certain timeless styles on repeat, and according to my records, one shoe in particular: loafers. 

For years, Swift has been spotted wearing the slip-on footwear in classic colors like black and brown, styling them with everything from dresses to sparkly graphic tees and shorts, as seen in the RED section of her world-renowned Eras Tour.

I figured that if Swift wears loafers so often, they must be easy to style and pretty comfortable, so it was finally time to add a pair to my closet. I opted for the Madden NYC Lug Sole Loafers from Walmart, which cost only $26, and to say I’m obsessed would be an understatement.

Madden NYC’s Lug Sole Loafers are a nearly identical match to Swift’s Eras Tour pair, and after having the opportunity to test them, I now see the draw. I love chunky-soled shoes and was excited to find a similar style in loafer form. While they are a smidge on the heavier side, the outsole is super durable and offers ample anti-slip traction on all surfaces. 

One of my favorite ways to style the shoes is with socks and a skirt for a preppy look. The contrasting white sock makes the faux patent black leather stand out more and helps minimize blisters or rubbing (I have worn them numerous times and have yet to deal with either). As we head deeper into fall, I look forward to swapping in ruffle-trim socks and tights for various outfit options. I’m even considering grabbing another pair in metallic silver for the holiday season.

One reviewer suggested sizing up if you’d prefer wearing them with thicker socks, and I agree adding socks will make the fit even more snug, so keep that in mind when picking a size.
