'Bachelorette' Bling! Exclusive Photos of JoJo's 3-Carat Engagement Ring from Jordan

By the final rose ceremony, Jordan Rodgers had little doubt he’d won Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher’s heart. But when it came time to pick out the perfect engagement ring, the former pro football player needed to take a beat.

“He had never looked at rings before and he was blown away,” says Neil Lane, The Bachelor franchise’s go-to jeweler. While Rodgers was immediately drawn to the stunning oval cut diamond he’d go on to choose, he “went back and forth and took it very seriously”, says Lane. “He was nervous because he wanted it to be perfect.”

With the expansive ocean as their backdrop and the Thailand sun overhead (“It was so hot!” recalls Lane, laughing), Rodgers honed in on the 3-carat diamond sparkler. The hand-crafted platinum ring, centrally set with an oval-shaped diamond and encrusted band set with over 155 smaller round diamonds, appealed to him because of the “elegant simplicity” of the unadorned oval stone, says Lane.

“But Jordan also loved the sparkle of all the diamonds in the band and how the side view looked like a little crown,” Lane explains. “And how could he not? JoJo is his princess! It was clear he was madly in love with her.”

After Rodgers slipped the ring on her finger in the show’s finale, Fletcher was floored, gushing to PEOPLE that the ring is “stunning and classic.” Lane, who felt Rodgers had an air of certainty about the love and strong bond he’d quickly formed with Fletcher, says, “He was smitten and could see a life with her. Jordan was so excited about their future — he was happy as a lark.”

And JoJo was just as happy with her new bling.

“It’s perfect,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively. “It’s so nice to actually get to wear it now. It’s stunning. I love the fact that there is one rock. It’s classic. I also think it makes my finger look skinnier, which I really appreciate.”
