The Celebs Fostering and Adopting Dogs During Coronavirus Isolation: 'Cuddly Lil' Quarantine Companion'

The "Physical" singer and her model boyfriend are proud new puppy parents! The couple adopted a dog together, who they named Dexter.

The Grammy winner introduced the puppy on Instagram, sharing adorable photos of their new "tiny bestfriend" snuggling up to the couple.

"Thank you @thelabellefoundation," Lipa wrote, tagging the Los Angeles-based animal rescue where they adopted Dexter. "HE'S PERFECT 🤍."

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Meet Dutch! The actor introduced his newest family member on Instagram on July 28. "He's 10 months-old, named after my character in Predator, weighs 103 pounds, and is slightly afraid of Lulu... but they'll be best friends soon," Schwarzenegger wrote, referring to his beloved pet donkey. (The two have, in fact, already formed a beautiful friendship).

Logan Ryan

The former New England Patriot cornerback and his wife Ashley are fostering four *cereal-sly* cute kittens: Apple Jack, Cocoa Puff, Lucky Charm, and Fruity Pebble.

"The Ryans, well known for their work in animal welfare, are fostering four kittens for Friends of Strays who were found orphaned under an abandoned building in Largo, Florida," Friends of Strays Animal Shelter wrote in a Facebook post featuring photos of Ryan and his wife, Ashley, with the kittens.

The Ryans have a history of caring for animals. In 2017, Logan and Ashley, who is a professional dog trainer, founded the Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation "which partners with animal welfare organizations around the world promoting adoption and offering grants and educational opportunities to better the lives of animals," according to the Friends of Strays Animal Shelter.

Kaia Gerber

Inspired by her time with pal Cara Delevingne's new pups, Gerber went ahead and adopted a dog of her own from the Labelle Foundation, whom she named Milo. The model shared adorable snaps of him on her Instagram, calling him "the perfect forever cuddle buddy & the best friend a girl could ask for."

Bubba Wallace

The NASCAR driver introduced his new pup to the world on Twitter on July 31, writing "Let me tell ya bout my best friend. Asher meet the world."

In the photo, Asher sports an adorable red bandana while snuggled between Wallace and his longtime girlfriend, Amanda Carter.

Charles Melton

After partnering with Purina ONE to raise awareness for shelter animals, the Riverdale star ended up meeting — and adopting — his "soulmate," a 12-week-old Siberian husky named Neya in May.

Adoption had been on his mind for over a year, the actor told PEOPLE, and while self-isolating amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Melton decided to finally take that leap.

"I partnered with Purina ONE and it was an easy fit because they have a shelters program where they donated 6.5 million pounds of dog and cat food to shelters, which is great. And along with the partnership, I got connected to the shelter with Hollywood Huskies and met Neya when she was 12 weeks old," Melton explained. "And at this time she was fostered in three different homes. So when we met it's ... I met my soulmate and it's just been a match made in heaven since then."

Ana de Armas

The Knives Out star welcomed another puppy to her family during quarantine! De Armas introduced her sweet new addition to her followers with a series of adorable photos on Instagram, captioning the shots, "Welcome to the family Salsa 🌸💕."

The puppy is a mixture of brown, black and white fur and has a spotted pink and black nose. Salsa joins big brofur Elvis.

Liev Schreiber

Schreiber's new addition, Scout, joined his family in June via Tobie's Small Dog Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding forever homes for pups, for their help.

The news was bittersweet, though: it came on the heels of the death of his dog Woody, one of two pups he adopted following Hurricane Harvey.

"Been off the grid for a bit and just now beginning to find my way back. On top of everything else happening in the world right now, about three weeks ago Woody was hit by a car and unfortunately he didn't make it," he wrote on Instagram. "It was all over fairly quickly and I don't think he suffered too much. I wish I could say the same for us."

"He was an amazing friend, teacher, and companion. He helped me rebuild my life in a way that wouldn't have been possible without him," Schreiber continued of his pup. "Those of you who have a friend like Woody will know what I mean. Hold them close."

Miranda Lambert

The singer and husband Brendan McLoughlin pulled a U-turn when they saw this teeny kitten — now named Tequila — on the side of the road while on a road trip in late June.

"This kitten rode 9 hours back to Nashville with us and 3 dogs and is such a champ," Lambert wrote in an Insta caption about the animal's journey.

Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez

The engaged couple introduced the world to the newest member of their blended family: a goldendoodle puppy! The pair got the adorable pup for Lopez's son Maximilian "Max" David, 12.

"We surprised Max yesterday with a new puppy, a Goldendoodle. So cute, but there's one thing left to decide ... his name! We are having a family debate and would love your help!" Rodriguez captioned a portrait of the family — including Lopez's 12-year-old daughter Emme Maribel Muñiz — with the pooch. "It's between these two names: Tyson or Yankee Doodle???"

Lopez shared a video of the pup playing with Max, who exclaimed, "This is the best day! I love him!"

Busy Philipps

Philipps is a new mom — new dog mom, that is! The actress posted a sweet photo cuddling the newest addition to her family, a goldendoodle named Gina Linetti (after Chelsea Peretti's character from Brooklyn Nine-Nine).

After encouraging her followers to be open to change, Philipps admitted that she's struggling with crate training the sweet pup, comparing it to sleep training her daughter Birdie.

She shared, "I currently feel like crate training is insane because Gina Linetti should sleep in my bed next to my face. (But then I'm reminded of years 1-10 of Birdie's life in which she basically refused to sleep at all because sleep training felt wrong to me)OK FINE I WILL CONTINUE THE CRATE TRAINING) It's all a lot. Hug something soft tonight."

The Grammy winner had been fostering two puppies during the coronavirus pandemic, and on April 14 updated fans that both had been adopted - one of which found a fur-ever home with the singer herself.

"As for this little nameless monkey… you are miiiiiiiiiiiine!!!" she wrote (having previously noted that she was in the process of thinking of new names for the two fosters).

Henry Golding

"What better way to share your home in quarantine than with a loving fuzzball," Henry Golding asked his followers as he introduced his foster pup, Stella, to the world.

Golding and his wife, Liv Lo, are fostering the adorable dog which social distancing.

"So today was a huge day at the Golding house hold, we became foster parents for this little pup Stella," Golding wrote alongside photos of him and his wife with their furry friend.

And the couple had some help from none other than Olivia Munn! Golding wrote on Instagram, "Our friend @oliviamunn has been such an amazing advocate for pets that need homes."

He added, "Of course during our whole interaction we kept a safe distance and made sure to wear protective equipment, it's still so doable even in this challenging time ❤️❤️"

Antoni Porowski

Shelters across the country have been encouraging people to take in foster pets while undergoing weeks of isolation due to coronavirus pandemic — and many stars have stepped up to the plate.

While filming the sixth season of Netflix hit Queer Eye in Texas earlier this month, Porowski stopped by Austin Pets Alive! and found an adorable pit-beagle mix named Neon to take in.

The Queer Eye star said on Instagram, "It's very important for us to support our local shelters because they're getting a lot less foot traffic. If you can't commit to adopting, I would encourage fostering as well."

Kyle Chandler

Clear eyes, full hearts, can't help but adopt a puppy! Kyle Chandler and his wife, Kathryn, stopped by Austin Pets Alive! (the same shelter Porowski fostered from) and ended up giving a dog a furever home.

"Actor Kyle Chandler and his wife Kathryn stopped by yesterday with the intention of fostering a dog. Little Clive stole their hearts and they decided to adopt instead!" the shelter's post read, alongside a photo of the pair with their new dog.

Selena Gomez

The Rare singer shared on Instagram Live that she is fostering a puppy amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Gomez is already a fur mama to her dog, Winnie, who can be seen pawing at Gomez's foster puppy, Daisy.

"Winnie and Daisy are getting along very well," Gomez said of the pair.

She continued: "I know a few friends that are fostering right now just to give animals a safe place … I couldn't help it, I have to keep her."

Camila Morrone

The model shared that she is fostering a dog from the Southern California dog rescue Hollywood Huskies while social distancing.

She shared an adorable picture of Jack, her husky puppy foster, to Instagram, telling her followers, "Fostering a puppy during this quarantine time has been the single best decision. For all my friends showing interest in doing this, DO IT. You won't regret it❤️❤️❤️❤️ these sweet creatures need you so badly."

Shortly after her initial post, Morrone updated her followers with news that she took home Jack's sister, Jill, as well.

Cyrus shared on Instagram that she adopted another dog from The Wagmor Luxury Spa, Hotel & Rescue in Studio City, California.

The singer named the adorable shepherd mix Bo Cyrus, a tribute to her dad Billy Ray Cyrus' nickname in high school.

Cyrus's boyfriend, Cody Simpson, shared a series of photos of Bo looking super happy in his new home.

Camila Mendes

The Riverdale actress adopted a "cuddly lil quarantine companion" named Truffle from The Labelle Foundation in Los Angeles.

She wrote on Instagram (alongside a sweet photo with her fur baby), "Don't know what I'd do without her. pls consider fostering a furry friend with all this time you're spending at home!" She also encouraged her followers to reach out to their local shelters to help an animal in need.

Lisa Marie Presley

Lisa Marie Presley can't help falling in love with her foster pups.

The musician and daughter of the late Elvis Presley shared a photo of her social distancing crew, which includes her 11-year-old twin daughters, Harper and Finley, and two foster pups.

"We've been fostering pups from a shelter. Exhausting but so rewarding 👍🐶 be well❤️" Presley captioned the post.

Cara Delevingne

The model is making the most of her time inside by fostering two puppies from the Labelle Foundation. Their names are Hendrix and Bowie, and they look totally cozy in their temporary home.

Delevingne wrote on Instagram, "Fostering these cuties during quarantine and you should too! 🐶🐶"

Kaia Gerber
