Nicki Minaj Brings on the Blooms — and Bold Poses! — in Flower-Covered Minidress at 2024 Met Gala

Nicki Minaj put on a flower show at the Met Gala!

The 41-year-old hitmaker perfectly channeled the theme of "Garden of Time" at the annual fashion event on May 6, wearing a vibrant yellow sculpted fit-and-flare minidress adorned with colorful 3D flowers. The look — a custom design from Marni by Franceso Risso, according to Vogue — featured oversized blooms on the shoulders and all over the bodice and skirt.

She accessorized with matching yellow pointy-toe heels and a tiny yellow chain-strap bag that appeared to be made from the same material as her dress, along with press-ons from Pink Friday Nails. The singer topped off her blunt bob — and bangs — with a top knot ringed with a colorful floral crown.

The garden-inspired look marked Minaj's seventh appearance at the annual event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Minaj previously made her Met Gala debut in May 2013 for the "Punk: Chaos to Couture" theme, when she wore a navy blue Tommy Hilfiger gown with red lipstick and a gold necklace.

Since then, she's upped her Met Gala game with an all-black look in custom Moschino in 2016, a duchesse satin kimono top in 2017, a deep-red Oscar de la Renta gown in 2018, a soft pink Prabal Gurung dress with crystals in 2019 and a feathered, ruffled Burberry gown in 2022.

While Minaj missed 2023's "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" theme, her most recent gown in 2022 came with a sheer dotted yoke over a pair of leather pants, and an additional leather baseball cap to match the theme of “Gilded Glamour."

The musician later revealed that the look itself “cemented” her choice to get a breast reduction, telling Vogue for her “Life in Looks” video that she "knew before we even left the room that the boobs were about to have a night of their own."

“I did my fittings, I told them I loved this hat and I loved what the outfit was giving, but I said, ‘You guys, look, these boobs are going to be spilling out,’” Minaj recalled of her thoughts before heading to the red carpet.

Minaj also remembered Naomi Campbell “walking in and out of the room looking at me like, ‘Girl let’s go.'"

It's been a busy year so far for Minaj, who has been on her "Pink Friday 2 World Tour" following the release of her latest studio album, Pink Friday 2 in December.

The looks on her latest tour so far have included a regal silver cutout bodysuit, a hot pink fur vest and a black cowboy hat with fringe. 

Minaj, who just performed at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on May 1, will next take her talents to Houston's Toyota Center on May 9. After a few additional shows in the south, the "Pink Friday 2 World Tour" will continue on internationally to Netherlands, Cologne, Paris and beyond.
