People Editorial Guidelines Published on March 6, 2019 10:54AM EST Beloved funny ladies and Saturday Night Live alums Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch are taking audiences on a girls trip. More specifically, they’re all starring in a movie together called Wine Country, which is loosely based on a real-life vacation their group of friends/cast members took together, and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the women in action. “Wine Country is a comedy about long time friends going on a trip to celebrate a 50th birthday,” Poehler tells PEOPLE in the latest issue. “It is loosely based on a real trip that myself and the cast took, and it’s an attempt to show what deep and lasting female friendships look like. “ Colleen Hayes/Netflix The Wine Country cast, (clockwise from left): Paula Pell, Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch and Emily Spivey. Colleen Hayes/Netflix Joining Poehler, Rudolph, Gasteyer, and Dratch in the girls trip fun/all-star ensemble are more well-known comediennes and SNL favorites: Paula Pell, Emily Spivey and Tina Fey. Pell still writes for film and television, in addition to acting. She was a writer at SNL for more than 20 years and created some of the show’s most memorable sketches — Debbie Downer, The Spartan Cheerleaders, and many more. Spivey was a writer on SNL for nearly a decade and continues to write for television shows like Modern Family, The Last Man on Earth and Up All Night. “In many ways the film is a long conversation between funny women who don’t mind making emotional deep dives,” Poehler continues. “They discover they aren’t connecting the way they used to because they aren’t keeping their relationships. It’s a love story to all the women in my life who hold me up, and it’s told by the funniest and deepest women I know.” Wine Country is available to stream May 10 on Netflix.
