Maren Morris Pokes Fun at That Viral Onstage Wardrobe Malfunction: 'I'll Frame the Skirt'

Maren Morris has finally addressed the wardrobe malfunction that has been going viral on TikTok — and her response was classic Maren Morris.

On July 16, the “Middle” singer, 34 posted a TikTok video set to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s sexually explicit song “WAP” to poke fun at her accidental flashing incident that happened onstage at Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic concert in Camden, New Jersey, earlier this month. 

"Hey guyz did anything weird happen today?!?!” she wrote across the video, adding in the caption, “I think I’ll frame the skirt.” 

Of course, the skirt she’s referring to is the denim maxi that featured a thigh slit so high it exposed her nether regions as she performed in front of a crowd at the Fourth of July event. 

Videos of the moment led to a debate online as to whether or not Morris was wearing underwear.

“You mean to tell me no one on that stage noticed and tried to tell her!!!” one TikTok user commented on a clip of the faux pas. “And commando??!” another wrote, although Morris has yet to confirm whether she was or wasn’t wearing underwear. 

Morris isn’t fazed by the commentary.

“Like, I’ve given birth. Nothing embarrasses me anymore,” Morris, who welcomed son Hayes, 4, with ex-husband Ryan Hurd in March 2020, commented under her own video in response to a fan who thought her reaction was the “only appropriate response.” The musician had also used the garnered attention to promote her new EP, Intermission, out Aug. 2.

The Grammy winner is also aware that the skirt is quite the attention-grabber. 

On May 19, she posted an Instagram photo of her in the skin-baring design, which she teamed with a black tank top, and joked that it was her “church skirt.”

When it comes to her stage looks, Morris isn’t afraid to show some skin.

In July 2023, she took to Instagram with backstage pics taken at her show in Birmingham, England.

In the shots, she wears a crochet tank top without a bra underneath, which she didn’t realize was see-through until she saw the photographs.

“When you accidentally didn’t flash check your top pre-show,” she joked.
