Speaking with PEOPLE about her latest collaboration with Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott, the 32-year-old country singer-songwriter said that while she "100%" feels a pressure to live up to a certain standard, "that pressure is going to hold me accountable." "I feel like I can handle that pressure. I feel like at the end of the day, I still fear Mama, Daddy, and the Lord, and I try my best not to do things that would disappoint them," she says. "The truth is, I'm human, so I'm going to disappoint people." "It's important for me to make sure that I can lay my head down at night, and be proud of what I did or said." Elsewhere in the conversation, Wilson also raved a bit about her fifth studio album Whirlwind, which arrived on Friday, Aug. 23. Describing it as a "badass record," she tells PEOPLE that the new project is "definitely going to show another side of me." "I think this record is going to be something that I talk about 50 years from now," Wilson says. Released on Friday, Whirlwind features previously shared singles including "Country's Cool Again" and "4x4xU," as well as a feature appearance from Miranda Lambert on "Good Horses." The album spans 14 songs and, as she revealed upon its announcement, was "a long time coming" for the country star. “This new chapter of music is the most cathartic and personal piece of art I’ve ever made. I hope this record brings some peace to your whirlwind and wraps its arms around you like it did for me," said Wilson, who also won entertainer of the year at the ACM Awards. The collection features rings, chain necklaces and earrings, all retailing from $98-$225 with stylish crescent moon and star motifs. Wilson and Scott, who founded the brand in 2002, worked together on the collection, with Wilson telling PEOPLE they felt like “kindred spirits.” “I was really interested in a collection that bridged both of our personalities into one,” she says. “I feel lucky that I got to do this collection with someone who feels the same way about creativity, art and style. We had a lot of fun doing it!” Close
