Her authenticity is what caught the attention of jewelry designer Kendra Scott, who founded her eponymous accessories brand in 2002. One year after their meeting at the 2023 ACM Awards, the two are debuting the Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott and Lainey Wilson Whirlwind collection, which is fittingly inspired by Wilson's new album, Whirlwind (out now). The rings, chain necklaces and earrings, which retail from $98-$225, feature crescent moon and star motifs, giving the entire collaboration a dreamy celestial feel. They also come in a variety of metals that can be worn separately or layered. Lainey Wilson and designer Kendra Scott. We had a lot of fun doing it!” “It's so funny how two people come from different places, but have so many similarities and parallels in their life. It makes it easy when you're going through the design process,” Scott tells PEOPLE. For context, the two started their careers from the “ground up." Back in the day, Wilson handed out demos on burned CDs “up and down" Nashville before getting her big break while Scott, then a first-time mom, crafted jewelry out of her home and sold them to boutiques around Austin. She tells PEOPLE that the celestial pendants are a “fun call-back” to her song “4x4xU." The line “fly me to the stars/ fly me to the moon” is meant to be “comforting, but empowering, the way I hope people feel when wearing this line," she says. The singer was also influenced by Dolly Parton, one of her many style icons. “She always knew not only who she was, but what she wanted to say, not only through her lyrics and songs, but through how she dressed. This collection is for those with ambitions bigger than their hometown. It’s for the women who demand more — and then some. It’s those who feel at home under a full moon on an open highway. And it’s for those with a song in their heart, waiting to be set free.” Lainey Wilson for Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott. Yellow Rose has so many beautiful pieces. The gold Beau bolo necklace and ring have been go-tos, probably because it speaks to my roots and horse-loving heart.” From the whirlwind collection, she also loves the Lainey Statement necklace, a crescent moon with beautiful stone detail that's "classy" but has "a little hippie flair." “For me, especially on stage, however I'm feeling that day is whatever I'm wearing. Then there's days where I might not be feeling the best. I might be run down, tired or whatever. But whatever I put on, whatever pair of jeans I put on that day, whatever jewelry, it kind of sets the tone and mood for me.” And the end of the day, the one piece advice Wilson hopes her fans take away from her collaboration with Kendra Scott is: “Don't be scared to take a risk."
