The "Wildflowers and Wild Horses" singer, 32, was performing at the Faster Horses Music Festival in Brooklyn, Mich., on July 20, when she experienced the kind of wardrobe malfunction no one wants to have while on stage in front of thousands of fans. While performing, Wilson split her pants but quickly swapped them out for a new pair. Not without making a few jokes at her own expense, though, which was captured in a few TikTok videos at the performance. "Y'all just about got a real show," she said of her gaffe. "A real show!" Wilson continued on with her show but understandably couldn't quite move on from what happened on stage. "You can't make that up! I'd have never known had my people back here not seen it," she said. "There's a first time for everything, and I'm glad it was y'all that I split my pants wide open in front of." Lainey Wilson at Faster Horses Music Festival. She posted a video of herself jump-squatting in a pair of pants to test them out, writing on top of the video, "adding this into my routine before a show so my britches don't rip like they did last night at faster horses." In June, Wilson made another style statement when she performed on Today wearing a pair of black flared leather pants and a matching leather vest with turquoise embroidery and fringe details. Her bold leather bell bottoms were created by custom leather atelier By The Namesake. Rosa Halpern, the founder and designer behind the brand, told PEOPLE that the singer's pants were a spin on her label's Louisa design. "Working with Lainey and her team has been amazing experience because she has her signature look and knows what she wants to wear," Halpern shared. "It's fun to take our signature style (The Louisa's) and dramatize them with some added flare (literally and figuratively!), which looks fabulous on Lainey!" Close
