How Justin and Hailey Bieber Are Planning for Parenthood: Inside Their 'Super Committed' Marriage (Exclusive Sources)

Justin and Hailey Bieber have baby, baby, baby on the brain.

After announcing they are expecting their first child together in May, the couple — who first said "I do" in 2018 (and again a year later in a fairytale wedding) — have been soaking in quality time as a couple while preparing for parenthood.

"They're ready to become parents. They're planning for the baby's arrival and it's very cute," a Justin source tells PEOPLE exclusively. "They are super committed to their marriage, but also to being the best parents possible."

Last week Hailey, who's the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and graphic designer Kennya Deodato Baldwin, made headlines when she revealed in a W Magazine cover story that she's not currently "super close" with her family.

While she said she has "very fond, beautiful memories" of her childhood, the Rhode founder, 27, noted that she's "very independent" at this stage in her life.

Indeed, sources say Hailey is fiercely protective of her growing family – and that Justin, 30, has found safety in their relationship.

"The music industry is a cutthroat world and it's difficult to trust people. He's had major trust issues and thinks everyone wants something from him," says another Justin insider. "He has a small circle of friends."

Adds the first source: "Hailey has always been very supportive of Justin. She's his rock. She is patient and someone he can always lean on."

While Hailey grew up with a famous last name, she is "very solid," says a friend of the couple. "She's been a grounding force for Justin. Her family is who they are, but she always wanted her own identity."

Carving out her own path — especially while navigating a high-profile marriage — "hasn't been easy," says the friend. "But she's really figured out who she wants to be and works really hard. They will be super hands-on parents."

She's also been a guiding force for her husband as he figures out his next career moves. "She's very involved and helps him make decisions," says another insider close to the Biebers.

Through the years they've both been open about their struggles with mental health, and sources say Justin and Hailey have found strength through their shared Christian faith in difficult times. "They're very religious and lean on their faith," says an industry source.

The Bieber insider notes they remain "very close" with Judah Smith, a pastor on the leadership team at Churchome who has long guided the couple. "Justin and Hailey are really involved in their church community," says the insider.

Now, after overcoming several unexpected setbacks — including Hailey's scary mini-stroke in 2022, followed shortly after by Justin's Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis and subsequent tour cancellation that same year — the couple are excited for their next chapter together. Says the Justin source: "They will be great parents."
