Hailey Bieber is opening up about her current relationship with her family.

The Rhode founder, 27, said she is not “super close” with her family as she shared her excitement over expanding her own while discussing her pregnancy in a new interview.

Hailey, who is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and graphic designer Kennya Deodato Baldwin, told W Magazine in an interview published July 23, “I’m not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I’m very independent.”

"I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family," she continued. "But when I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories.”

The expectant star explained that her distance from her family came after starting out as a model at 17 and moving to New York City. “I started traveling the world, making my own money. I got my own apartment and had to learn how to live on my own ... That pushed me into adulthood kind of quickly."

Hailey recalled of growing up with her famous family that she had a “fairly normal childhood,“ though she "always recognized [it] was different.”

The pregnant skincare mogul and her husband Justin Bieber announced that they were expecting their first baby together in a joint Instagram post back in May.

At the time, Hailey's dad Stephen, 58 — who supported her uncle, actor Alec Baldwin, at his Rust case dismissal earlier this month — posted his excitement at becoming a grandfather, writing in the comment section, "Love you guys ❤️ blessed beyond words🙏🏼 praise God 👶🏼let's get ready to have some fun y'all 🎉.”

Speaking about her pregnancy reveal, Hailey told W Magazine, “I was honestly able to keep it quiet because I stayed small for a long time. I didn’t have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant … I was able to wear big jackets and stuff.”

The mom-to-be went on to share that it was a relief to finally let the secret out.

“I probably could have hid it until the end, but I didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly. I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life," she said.

Currently in her third trimester, Hailey added that she is cherishing the last moments with just her and her husband Justin, 30.

“In the beginning [of pregnancy], it was super emotional for me. Like, ‘I love this human so much. How can I possibly bring someone else into this?’ ” she revealed. “I’m trying to soak in these days of it being Justin and me, just the two of us.”
