First Look! See All the Famous Faces Who Are Going to Be in the 'While You Were Out' Reboot

The show will premiere on March 16 on both HGTV and TLC

While You Were Out is coming back to TV with a star-studded cast, and PEOPLE has a sneak peek of what to expect.

HGTV and TLC teamed up to reimagine the hit show, and the cast includes a group of celebrity interior designers and contractors that will be familiar to fans of both networks.

Trading Spaces regulars Carter Oosterhouse, Sabrina Soto, Doug Wilson, Kahi Lee, Frank Bielec, Hildi Santo Tomas, Ty Pennington and Vern Yip will all appear in teams of two to tackle the show’s signature surprise makeovers.

And while they’re all friendly, not everything goes smoothly during the renovation process.

“Take the hammer and hit it,” Oosterhouse tells his teammate Soto in a new teaser for the show, which premiered exclusively with PEOPLE.

“Oh I’m going to hit the hammer into something,” Soto says while laughing as Oosterhouse points to his head and smiles.

From HGTV, Flip of Flop Las Vegas’s Bristol and Aubrey Marunde, Love It or List Its David Visentin and Hilary Farr, Good Bones mother-daughter duo Karen E. Laine and Mina Starsiak will take part. And from DIY Network, Rehab Addict’s Nicole Curtis and Vanilla Ice Project, Rob “Vanilla Ice” Van Winkle round out the cast.

Eric Griffin, the host of Amazing Space and DIY’s Ultimate Retreat 2017 Special, will also appear on the show as a carpenter alongside former pro football player Jordan Thompson.

Former MTV VJ and all around handywoman Ananda Lewis is hosting the new season. And as she points out in the trailer, “This time around, it’s go big or don’t come home.”

Similarly to the original show, which was hosted by former 2gether boybander Evan Farmer and featured a rotating cast of designers and carpenters, each episode of WYWO 2.0 will feature a homeowner setting up their friend or family member with a surprise renovation, executed in just two days.

The loved one gets sent away under the guise of a vacation or work trip, and comes home (hopefully) to a complete, redesigned room.

However, as the trailer hints, sometimes, things don’t go as planned and their renovations are threatened when people want to come home early from their trip.

And while the show promises to bring the drama, they’ve also set their highest budget for renovations. In 2002, the budget for each makeover was $1,000, but increased for each of the show’s four season before peaking at $2,000.

For the remake, the show will have a much higher budget of $10,000 per room and each episode will feature two home makeovers, with two designers and one carpenter per house.

While You Were Out premieres March 16 at 9/8c on HGTV and TLC.
