Nicole Kidman was smitten with husband Keith Urban from the moment they met — but apparently, he didn’t immediately feel the same way. The Australian actress, 49, recently stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she revealed that the country-music superstar, 49, didn’t call her for four months after they first met. “I had such a crush on him and he wasn’t interested in me. It’s true!” the actress told host Ellen DeGeneres. “He didn’t call me for four months.” And when Kidman revealed that she never asked Urban why he didn’t call, the comedian didn’t let him get away with it. “I don’t know, seems like he didn’t like you. That you would stay with him is weird,” the host quipped. Kidman also talked about the funny moment when the couple realized they were nominated for awards on the same night and their 8-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose, had the perfect solution — she could be Dad’s date to the Grammys! “The reason I’m in London [during the Grammys] is because I got nominated for a BAFTA, which is the British Academy, the equivalent of the Academy Awards here,” said Kidman, who is up for best supporting actress for her work in Lion. “But it’s on the same night as the Grammys.” That’s when Sunday stepped in, but Kidman immediately shut it down. “Cause she’s 8 and they use inappropriate language, Ellen!” the actress explained. Kidman, who is also nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actress this year, later opened up about winning her first Academy Award, for 2002’s The Hours. “I sort of have snippets of memory of it. And I’ve actually never rewatched my speech, can you believe that?” the actress says about her first win. “But it is sort of like a dream when you win something like that cause there’s so many people watching. I didn’t expect it because I hadn’t won certain other awards, so I was sort of blindsided by it, but at the same time just beyond thrilled.” But the actress revealed that the reason she “so badly” wants to win again is because she didn’t have the opportunity to thank her late father the first time around. “I was so focused on thanking my mom because I wanted to thank her and she was the one sitting right there, and there’s something about that mother-daughter relationship” Kidman admitted. “And my dad was the kind of that, he’s not alive anymore, but the most beautiful man where none of that was important to him. He was always sort of like, ‘Oh don’t worry about me, thank your mother!’ “ Close
