Laura Prepon and Ben Foster Engaged: What to Know About the Ultra-Private Couple

Ben Foster and Laura Prepon confirmed their relationship in a big way — with a big ring!

Source confirmed PEOPLE that the Orange Is the New Black actress is engaged to the Hell or High Water actor, and she debuted her new sparkler at The Girl on the Train premiere Tuesday night.

Most fans, however, didn’t know the low-key couple were even dating. Aside from some snaps of the duo out together in New York City over the summer, which spurred talk they were an item, the couple have kept their romance off social media and the Hollywood scene.

Although Prepon, 36, has been in the spotlight since her teenage years on That ’70s Show, she’s remained out of the tabloids when it comes to her personal life. She’s mainly steered clear of glitzy industry parties, and she takes her time updating her social media accounts.

“I’m like, I’m not gonna spend my day updating my social media,” she told Marie Claire earlier this year. “I want to enjoy and live my life. I want to let people in, I want fans to know what I’m doing, but there’s also a lot I keep close to the vest.”

The actress previously dated actor Christopher Masterson (the brother of her That ’70s Show costar Danny Masterson) for years, but the two split in 2007. She then moved onto a different Foster, actor Scott Michael Foster, from 2008 to 2013.

Ben Foster was mostly recently linked to House of Cards actress Robin Wright. The two had an on-and-off three-year relationship, getting engaged in January 2014 before splitting after 11 months. They reconciled a few months later, but ultimately broke off their engagement in August 2015.

Although the Prepon and Foster’s romance seems to be a whirlwind one, they’ve known each other for some time — Foster, 35, is a longtime pal of Danny Masterson, and Prepon and Foster have been friends since they were 18.

Prepon isn’t the only Orange Is the New Black star to celebrate an engagement. Also on Tuesday, Samira Wiley showed off her new bling from girlfriend Lauren Morelli on Instagram.
