During season 15, episode 4 of The Real Housewives of New York City, Lyons opened up to Sai De Silva, Jessel Taank and Rebecca Minkoff about why she played coy about her engagement to Cass Bird. In the episode, Taank asked to try on Lyons' ring, which prompted De Silva to specify which ring, "the promise ring." Except it's not a promise ring anymore. The Bravo star shares son Beckett with ex-husband Vincent Mazeau, whom she was married to for nine years before their split in 2011. Meanwhile, Bird shares two kids — son Leo and daughter Mae — with her previous partner, Ali Bird. "What do you mean? The kids know what’s going on!" De Silva asked in response. "We’re trying to be low profile but here’s a ring the size of China," Minkoff quipped. "I think it’s more about commitment and saying to each other that's what we want." A year ago, Lyons clarified that she wouldn't discuss her partner on the show. She also dodged questions about the status of her relationship during other public appearances. My girlfriend, who I adore, kept telling me that I had to button my shirt, and I said ‘If you want me to button my shirt, you have to put a ring on it,’" she said, seemingly referring to her penchant for showing off her décolletage. “We’re just really happy, and she gave me the ring that I wanted.” Jenna Lyons Remains Coy About Engagement-Like Ring from Her Girlfriend: 'We're Very Happy' Engagement rumors sparked that September when fans spotted a large ring on that finger in her cozy picture alongside Bird. At the time, a source close to Lyons told PEOPLE "she's not engaged," despite what it might look like. But three weeks ago, Lyons appeared on WWHL again and went as far as to hint that she and Bird already got married. "Well, maybe I don't need to get married.
