Bill Murray Makes Cameo in Laufey's Festive Music Video for Silly Rendition of 'Santa Baby' — Watch!

Christmas has come early for Laufey fans!

On Friday, Nov. 1, the jazz-pop singer (whose full name is Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir) shared a sweet and silly rendition of the holiday classic "Santa Baby," alongside a festive video, which features a cameo from Bill Murray.

Back in November 2022, Laufey, 25, released her holiday album A Very Laufey Holiday and she's continuing to add to the collection with "Santa Baby."

Directed by Jason Lester and choreographed by Alex Wong, the video features the Groundhog Day actor, 74, as its official narrator, book-ending Laufey's vocal spin on the Christmas classic.

In the visual, the Icelandic-Chinese lounges in a series of stunning holiday displays, flips off Santa and tells the head of the North Pole exactly what she wants this year.

Laufey is also joined by the American Ballet Theatre’s principal dancer Isabella Boylston and an ensemble of ballet dancers.

“I’m so excited to continue adding to A Very Laufey Holiday with my version of the holiday classic, Santa Baby," the "Fragile" artist said of the video. "It was so much fun creating this version, and the music video became the perfect visual representation of the track. Back in 2021, Laufey began releasing holiday music with “Love To Keep Me Warm” (with dodie). She followed it up with “The Christmas Waltz” in 2022 and “Christmas Dreaming” in 2023. Also last year,  Norah Jones invited Laufey to collaborate on a pair of holiday songs with their two-track single Christmas With You (via Blue Note), featuring a version of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and the co-written original “Better Than Snow.” 

In addition to the release of “Santa Baby,” Laufey is bringing A Very Laufey Holiday to vinyl for the first time. Each vinyl includes two of the four holiday songs that Laufey has covered, and both records will be available as part of a limited edition box set.
