Jenn Tran is speaking out on her split from Devin Strader.

On The Bachelorette season 21 finale on Tuesday, Sept. 3, Jenn and Devin got engaged in Hawai'i, but the couple later revealed that they had broken up. Jenn opened up about what happened in their relationship on the After the Final Rose special, revealing Devin's feelings changed almost immediately.

"As soon as we had left Hawai'i, things were just different," she told host Jesse Palmer. "It kind of just felt like he was pulling away all the promises that he had made to me — wanting to move somewhere together, and wanting to have this future planned out, and wanting to see each other all the time."

Jenn explained that she stopped receiving calls and texts from Devin, and grew "confused." Then, one night, she got a call from her then fiancé.

"He called me, and he basically broke off the engagement," she said. "[He said] he didn't love me anymore, feel the same way and felt like something had been off since the second thing he proposed. He regretted getting engaged,"

Trying to understand the pressures getting engaged on a reality show can bring, Jenn said she offered to work on things with Devin.

"[I said] 'Let's just be together. We don't have to be engaged — I want a life with you, I don't need a ring on my finger,'" she recalled telling him. "He was checked out. It wasn't what he wanted anymore. And I've been fighting for the relationship, trying to do everything I can to empathize with him and try to make things work. He didn't want to go to couples counseling. He didn't want to fight for the relationship anymore."

After that call, which Jenn said lasted 15 minutes, she claimed Devin has not responded to her reaching out.

"We were full-blown engaged and in love and now you're ignoring my text like I mean nothing to you," she said.

As fans may recall, Jenn was left with her three suitors, Devin, Marcus and Jonathan for the fantasy suites. At the time, she expressed her feelings for Devin were strong, saying being with him “just feels right” and that he “makes me feel loved and just supported.”

“I want to be in love with Devin and I think I’m really close to that,” the physician assistant student added to the cameras.

Marcus, on the other hand, went into his overnight date confessing, “I’m not to the point of being in love yet.”

“You deserve someone that is sure about you,” Marcus said to Jenn. “I don’t know if I’m putting pressure on myself because of how fast this process has been or how quickly the end of this process is approaching but it’s been hard for me to get to a point where I feel comfortable saying that I’m in love.”

Heading into the final stretch of her journey, Jenn and her men arrive in Seattle.

Jenn, however, needed to be honest about her feelings, which were stronger than Marcus’ during the overnight dates. She told him, "I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that I am in love with you."

She and Jonathan also seemed to be in a good place heading into the fantasy suites, throwing out the “L” word as well.

“I felt like I could spend the rest of my life with this guy,” Jenn said about the creative director.

“I have no doubt in my mind that tomorrow I can wake up and say, ‘Hey, this is my person. I’m so in love,’” he then said to the cameras.

Ultimately, Jonathan was sent home, and Marcus and Devin were left competing for the final rose, which as fans now know, went to Devin.

Jenn previously talked to PEOPLE about her time on the dating show — where she was the leading lady with 25 suitors vying for a proposal at the end of the season. Discussing whether she would be tuning in, Jenn was quick to respond.

“Are you kidding me? I'm not going to watch the best two months of my life? Of course, I am!” she said in a July issue. “I am so excited for it to premiere. I feel like it's so weird that this crazy journey happened, and I am just so excited to be able to watch it back.”

After the Men Tell All special, where Jenn took the opportunity to stand up for herself against Sam M. after she felt he disrespected her during their dates, she told PEOPLE that she learned a lot from the experience, and even teased how she was doing ahead of the finale.

“I've grown so much through the journey that I'm such a different person now than I was in it,” she explained. “I have a new sense of confidence and this empowerment, and so watching it all back, there were definitely certain situations with [the guys] that I was very enlightened by after the fact and I was like, ‘Oh, now I can pinpoint exactly what wrong here and why I felt this way or why I didn't stand up for myself.’”

“I don't have any regrets with the whole journey,” she later added. “I think everything played out the way exactly it was supposed to play out and I'm so happy about it. Along the way, all the mistakes I made and stuff like that, I own those and I'm happy to learn from them, and so I don't have regrets about anything.”
