Bachelorette Jenn Tran Says She Is 'Breaking the Mold' By Not Filming Her Season at Bachelor Mansion

Jenn Tran is ready to blaze her own trail as the new Bachelorette.

The physician assistant student — who is the first Asian-American lead of the ABC dating series — recently revealed that night one of the upcoming season will not be filmed at the Bachelor Mansion as usual. 

"I think what I've been trying to tell myself [is I'm the] first Asian Bachelorette, first PA student, we're really breaking the mold this season," Tran told Entertainment Tonight. "I feel like a new mansion is the perfect way to break the mold... I'm gonna bless it with some really good vibes."

Instead, night one of season 21 will take place at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana, California, the outlet confirmed. Tran, 26, and her suitors will then depart the U.S. and travel to countries including Australia and New Zealand.

She is ready to become a globetrotter during her season, saying, "I'm so excited, as a Sagittarius, we love to travel, we love to be independent, we love to do crazy things. I don't know where we're going yet, but I can't wait to find out."

Tran — who vied for Joey Graziadei's heart on season 28 of The Bachelor — shared she has one destination on her bucket list.

"I've always wanted to go to Africa my entire life,” she explained. “I love animals and I would love to go out in the sanctuaries, go on lots of safari rides, all that stuff. So maybe that's in the cards."

Tran shared her excitement for her historic casting during Monday's After the Final Rose special.

"I hope I find my person someone that I truly feel like is 100% — my perfect match and someone who I'm compatible with someone who he and I can have fun," she explained.

To the men who will vie for her heart, she said: "This experience is absolutely crazy and all I can hope is for them to really open up their heart to this because that's what I did and I got so much out of it. You know, it didn't end the way that I wanted to, but I grew and I learned so much from it ... I really hope that they ready to have some frickin fun."

Tran also reacted to making Bachelor Nation history as the first Asian American bachelorette.

"I feel so so grateful and so honored to be the first Asian bachelorette in this franchise," she smiled, noting how she failed to see proper Asian representation growing up and felt "boxed in" because she never imagined she could be a leading lady.

She continued, "And now to be here today saying in this position being like I am going to lead my own love story, I am going to be the main character in my story — like I just can't help but think of how many people I'm inspiring."

The Bachelorette is set to premiere in July on ABC.
