FuelEU kicks off in just two weeks – are you ready? The FuelEU maritime regulation is to be one of the most disruptive changes in the maritime industry, introducing stricter fuel requirements to drive emissions reductions. To help the industry navigate this, Hecla Emissions Management, a Wilhelmsen joint venture, hosted two seminars this autumn in Oslo and Bergen, alongside DNV and Wikborg Rein. Seminars provided practical insights into the regulatory, contractual, and commercial challenges of FuelEU maritime. With over 150 maritime folk attending, it’s clear the industry is preparing. With 163 years of experience, Wilhelmsen sets the stage for the future of the maritime industry, delivering solutions that are both proven and pioneering. Human rights present a unique compliance challenge. Because they aren’t like other compliance areas - they’re more complex. Risks vary significantly across regions. Many issues are hidden, like forced labour and discrimination. And they are notoriously hard to quantify, assess, and track. Nevertheless, we are committed to safeguarding human rights across our businesses. Operating in 57 countries, our businesses continuously assess human rights risks in their value chains, address potential impacts, and work to improve how we monitor and respond to these challenges. With climate change and geopolitical pressures exacerbating risks to human rights, work to safeguard them will only continue to be critical. And as the United Nations say, they are a vital force for good. #humanrights #humanrightsday #ESG #wearewilhelmsen #wilhelmsen

We work in a challenging context when it comes to tackling corruption, which is why having clear standards is essential. At Wilhelmsen, our zero-tolerance policy for all forms of corruption extends to requiring our suppliers to commit to responsible business practices. Take Wilhelmsen Port Services, for example. They implemented a new anti-corruption framework this year, with key initiatives including: · Securing over 1,000 commitments to a new Supplier Code of Conduct. · Partnering with Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) in India to educate employees about corruption challenges. · Engaging employees through the rollout of a new anti-corruption policy and e-learning modules. Addressing corruption in the maritime industry requires ongoing effort. By working in partnership, we strive to improve the spaces in which we operate. #anticorruption #ESG #IACD2024 #wilhelmsen

Meet Teegan de Kock! Teegan is an operator for Wilhelmsen Port Services. It’s her job to ensure that a vessel’s stay in port is as efficient, cost-effective and compliant as possible – from the moment one arrives in port to the moment it departs. She joined Wilhelmsen straight out of school to combine her love for the ocean with her dream of traveling. Five years later, she’s lived in three countries and taken on diverse roles. Her favourite part of the job? Liaising between captains and customers, solving problems on the spot, and being Wilhelmsen’s “eyes and ears" on the ground. At Wilhelmsen, we empower people – giving them ownership, opportunities and the freedom to thrive. #portservices #wearewilhelmsen #wilhelmsen

Meet Henning Hagemann in Wilhelmsen Ships Service! Henning and his team are setting up a charging station for Yinson GreenTech's electric boat fleet - a step towards reducing emissions in Singapore’s port. And it's a win for everyone. The project is in line with Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)'s plan to create the infrastructure needed to support new vessels using alternative fuels and at the same time, helps our customers reduce their scope 3 emissions. “Tackling a challenge, assembling the right team and doing something new – this is what makes a project like this so fun” says Henning. At Wilhelmsen, reliability means staying true to ourselves and to our customers. If we say we’ll do it, we do it. #emissionreduction #maritimesustainability #futureofshipping #maritimeESG #wilhelmsen #wearewilhelmsen

Shoko Isoda believes you just have to lean in. A year ago, she took the leap from make-up artist and entrepreneur to maritime industry, joining Wilhelmsen Port Services in Tokyo as an administrator. Now, she’s training to become a cruise operator, tackling everything a cruise ship might need - from spare parts to crew assistance. Working with a team of six cruise operators, of course they’ve already achieved their goal of increasing port calls this year. At Wilhelmsen, we pay close attention to the importance of learning, ensuring that our people are always ahead in a rapidly evolving industry. #lifelonglearning #careergrowth #womeninmaritime #learninganddevelopment #portservices #wilhelmsen #wearewilhelmsen

Last week, we at Wilhelmsen had the pleasure of hosting an insightful CSRD/ESRS peer exchange session with the UN Global Compact Norway at our Oslo headquarters! The session focused on scenario analysis, transition planning, data challenges, and double materiality assessments. It’s these granular kinds of discussions – ones that go beyond polished presentations – that help us learn. At Wilhelmsen, we work towards our ESG ambitions through industry collaboration forums like this one. We partner with others helps us stay at the forefront of developments. A big shoutout to the UNGC Norway team for guiding the session and to all the participants for their invaluable contributions. #esg #csrs #ungc #esrs #peerexchange #wilhelmsen

163 years of maritime expertise? Check. A global presence spanning 59 countries and access to over 2,200 ports? Also, check. From our first iconic flag to now, we’ve evolved through decades of change, not just in what we do but also in how we look. Our visual identity has changed. Yet, we’ve stayed true to what we do best. We once said, “for speed and service” – and while we no longer use the phrase, those principles of reliability, quality, and service still guide us. Some things change. Our dedication doesn’t. #maritimeindustry #shipping #legacy #wilhelmsen #shapingthemaritimeindustry
