Founded in 2015, The Inclusion Factory is a boutique agency specialising in Diversity & Inclusion (D&I). Through our D&I strategy development, speeches & seminars and bespoke training programmes, we support organisations in their mission to establish an inclusive culture in which diversity is cultivated and embraced. Our newest service is the MenoVest™ Experience ™, an award winning menopause learning experience that aims to drive allies and support organisations that want to be menopause inclusive. I am a Diversity & Inclusion Consultant , Keynote Speaker Trainer with an Executive Master’s Degree from INSEAD EMCCC (individual and organisational psychology). Additionally, I have a Master’s Degree in International Law. Prior to establishing my own business, The Inclusion Factory in 2015, I enjoyed a 13 year marketing career at Heineken, managing exports to West Africa from Amsterdam, managing global brands from the company’s Paris office and overseeing the Desperados Tequila flavoured beer brand for Western Europe. I am a Dutch national and cosmopolitan. I grew up in The Netherlands and Surinam, studied in the UK and Singapore. I worked across Europe, West Africa, the South Pacific and Hong Kong. I am currently based in The Netherlands.

We are planning to roll out this programme further in the coming years as we continue to focus on and develop our future female leaders for VIA Outlets.     At The Inclusion Factory, we help organizations create truly inclusive workplaces—including Menopause-inclusive workplaces, which remain a critical but often overlooked part of inclusion. One major barrier? The lack of language around Menopause. Without a shared vocabulary, women’s physical, emotional, and mental challenges often go unspoken, leading to missed support and opportunities—affecting both career progression and well-being. But things are changing. We are opening up conversations and developing the language we need to foster greater understanding. The image below features insights from two male senior leaders who experienced our MenoVest. This experience helped them understand that the impact of hot flushes goes far beyond physical discomfort, affecting cognition, emotional well-being, and workplace performance. Why do we need allies? Menopause is often misunderstood—Allies help bridge the knowledge gap. Menopause can affect productivity—Allies help create supportive environments where women feel comfortable seeking help.   • Today, we celebrate 🌈 National Coming Out Day 🌈 , a powerful moment to spotlight the LGBTQ+ community. This year, I’ve been invited to deliver a keynote at a multinational company to discuss the importance of fostering inclusivity in the workplace. I’m telling you this because celebrations, such as Coming-Out Day matter. Here’s why: ◼ 45% of LGBTQ+ youth have seriously considered suicide[Source: The Trevor Project's 2023 National Survey]; ◼ 46% of LGBTQ+ employees remain closeted at work due to fear of discrimination[ Source: 2021 Human Rights Campaign]; ◼ LGBTQ+ youth with at least one supportive adult are 40% less likely to attempt suicide.     October 11th marks 🌈 National Coming Out Day 🌈 , a powerful moment to spotlight the LGBTQ+ community. This year, I’ve been invited to deliver a keynote at a multinational company to discuss the importance of fostering inclusivity in the workplace. Initially, I wondered if I was the right fit — as a heterosexual, bicultural woman, I don’t have personal LGBTQ+ experiences. But then I understood the true purpose of my invitation: My client asked me — a DEI professional and a sympathetic “outsider” of the LGBTQ+ community who understands the value of allyship for ALL minorities, to illuminate the importance for allies — people outside the LGBTQ+ community — to stand up, speak out, and support those who have been unfairly treated. I’m telling you this because celebrations, such as Coming-Out Day matter.
