The CMT Diacutron is a wire saw that can cut through ships 'like a knife through butter', as founder Frank Geerdink says. And he does not just say it, the prototype developed by CMT and Huisman has demonstrated its cutting capabilities to a crowd of current and potential partners, investors and officials. "𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺." said cabinet envoy for the maritime industry Kees van der Staaij. Deputy of the Provincie Zuid-Holland Arne Weverling adds: "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦. The first results are more than promising, illustrating that CMT has the capabilities to disrupt the world of ship recycling. And that's much needed, with so many ships still ending up on the beaches in Asia, and the dire need for clean steel scrap. CMT holds the key to both with a solution that works, as the test shows. Time to scale up! Do you want to be part of CMT's journey? We are welcoming partners and investors, get in touch to explore. 𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲. Over ons
Circular Maritime Technologies B.V. (CMT), has developed an innovative circular solution for dismantling and processing ocean going vessels. The CMT method is a fully automated, predominantly hands-off, mechanical process that ensures: - maximised circularity of recovered ship materials by re-use, - an automated yard process with minimum exposure of staff to hazardous materials, - the dismantling is designed to be environmentally benign, - an energy neutral concept by generating power from waste materials, - a positive financial projection by creating value out of the other materials than steel, - and leads to a safe, healthier and reliable way of working.

A milestone achieved! This morning the CMT International demonstrated the prototype of the wire saw that we developed together with Huisman to the first group of partners and stakeholders. The test was started by maritime cabinet envoy Kees van der Staaij and deputy of South-Holland Arne Weverling. It was great to so many people together who have helped us to achieve this milestone. Such a positive energy in the room, especially after actually witnessing the wire cut through steel. Today CMT demonstrated that it is possible to create a better solution for ship recycling: circular, safe and competitive. This is a big step toward that future. More about today will follow soon. 𝐒𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤: 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧 𝐯𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐌𝐓 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚 𝐖𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞! The European Union supports CMT International with a Kansen voor West grant. We have used their support to develop the prototype of the Alpha Wire together with Huisman. The wire is the centerpiece of the CMT circular ship dismantling solution. Last week the delegates of Kansen voor West came to visit and inspect the progress. A very positive meeting, allowing all of you a first sneak peak at the prototype as well. There is currently a dummy wire on the installation, the real wire will be deployed at the tests on December 12, 17 and January 8th. Partners and relations of CMT have been invited to attend the tests, and celebrate this milestone together with us! Next step? Onwards to a full pilot yard in the Netherlands. #circularshipdismantling #shipbreaking #EU #circulareconomy #maritime #manufacturing #greensteel Enviu Sojitz Corporation Jansen Recycling Group BV Ruud van Raak Inge Borgonjen Theo Groenink

💡 𝐂𝐌𝐓 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠! This is an exciting quarter for us. After years of preparation, we are now building the prototype of the main element of our ship dismantling solution. Together with Huisman we are developing a wire saw that will cut up ocean vessels like a loaf of bread. 🚢 Backed by a powerful consortium of partners and investors with Sojitz Corporation, Jansen Recycling Group BV and co-financed by the European Union through Kansen voor West, CMT is set to make some serious waves in the ship breaking sector. The CMT solution is: 🔷 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫. It will enable reuse of all the ships components at the highest value level. Providing high quality scrap steel as a key driver for the sustainable transition of the steel sector. 🔶 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞. The process is automated, foregoing the need for people to be involved in the dangerous process. 🔷 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞. Because the process is automated, a CMT yard will be able to dismantle 50 ships per year, with unrivalled output quality. The first test results are expected later this year. We can't wait to see this come to life!
