ReBuild Challenge on its second edition : ACT for Biodiversity! Building on the success of the first edition, which focused on rebuilding the Al Haouz region after the earthquake, this second edition of the ReBuild Challenge addresses the critical issue of biodiversity. This edition invited UM6P students to unleash their creativity and innovation to develop sustainable solutions for protecting and restoring biodiversity. Key focus areas include: ✔️ Sustainable Agriculture: Innovate through polyculture, agroecology, and sustainable resource management. ✔️Ecological Infrastructure: Design nature-based structures to protect natural habitats. ✔️ Water and Renewable Energy Management: Develop systems to enhance water quality and promote eco-friendly energy. ✔️ Socio-Economic Development: Foster local entrepreneurship via sustainable tourism and ecological crafts. After the Hackathon, five winning projects were selected for the final phase, receiving entrepreneurial support from StartGate to refine their innovations and prepare for the final competition. StartGate hosted an inspiring "Meet a Founder "session with Walid Daou ! As part of its community-building efforts to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students, idea holders, and founders, on Thursday, 14th November, StartGate welcomed Walid Daou, founder of Cleverlytics, a spin-off from UM6P - University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, portfolio company of UM6P Ventures focused AI solutions.     Walid shared insights from his journey in entrepreneurship and employment, clarifying the difference between spin-offs and startups regarding funding, ownership, and intellectual property. He encouraged researchers to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset, acknowledging the challenges of transitioning from research to commercialization and the need to balance academic objectives with business goals in spin-offs.     Walid also highlighted promising opportunities for AI-driven spin-offs in industries like OCP Group and regions such as Morocco, highlighting the importance of strong collaboration between research institutions and industry for success.

StartGate meeting the Italian Innovation ecosystem ! In partnership with the ITA - Italian Trade Agency, TECHNOPARK Maroc (MITC) and MCISE, StartGate and three winning startups from its community participated in SMAU Milan, one of Europe’s leading innovation events. This event serves as a dynamic platform that brings together startups, entrepreneurs, corporations, and investors.  This participation provided StartGate and its startups with a valuable opportunity to build connections within the Italian innovation ecosystem and meet with the Moroccan diaspora in Italy. Additionally, the group visited Bergamo, a region recognized for its rapid growth in innovation and entrepreneurship, further enhancing their understanding of European market trends.
