As we wrap up 2024, we are excited to share our milestones and achievements from our 10-year journey in our new impact report KWCA@10: A decade Stewarding Locally Led Conservation. The report highlights our remarkable progress in entrenching conservancies within relevant laws, polices and conservation plans, our support in strengthening nascent landscape conservancy associations, our strength in convening conservancy stakeholders, our membership, communication and partnerships efforts and our deliberate intentions in championing youth and women inclusion in conservancies.   Even years later, the impact of those achievements continue to inspire us. We extend our gratitude to our members, partners and everyone who shared in this electrifying journey as  we eagerly anticipate our continued collaboration in the years ahead! Gender-Based Violence (GBV) remains a significant barrier to the full and meaningful participation of women and girls at household, community, and conservancy levels. As we join the globe to commemorate 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, we reflect on the strides made in preventing violence, and promoting gender equality. In the Amboseli landscape, our collaborative efforts to challenge norms, engage men, and empower women have led to remarkable progress. The transformation we are witnessing today is a testament to the power of collective action and a rights-based approach to conservation. As we move forward, we remain committed to ensuring that women and girls live free from violence and that their voices are amplified at all levels. We were privileged to explore Randilen Wildlife Management Area (WMA) one of the 31 WMAs in Tanzania bordering Tarangire National Park. A WMA resembles a wildlife conservancy in Kenya in many ways; both models focus on community led conservation, where local communities play a central role in livestock management through grazing plans, wildlife conservation through securing wildlife corridors, community development initiatives and engagement of diverse income streams for conservation efforts. While we share many similarities which provide an opportunity for cross learning, there are major differences in benefit sharing agreements, landownership, wildlife laws and policies. We are excited to be associated with Honeyguide Foundation who together with Community Wildlife Management Areas Consortium, a version of KWCA are working to enhance community led conservation efforts in Tanzania.
