Timely Reparations for Timeless Wrongs. Check below ⤵️ this timely report on reparations by The Advocacy Team in collaboration with Development Reimagined! In a recent speech in Kingston, Jamaica, Jeremy Corbyn, Independent MP for Islington North and member of the APPG for Afrikan Reparations, emphasised that reparations involve “recognising this nation’s [the UK’s] role in crimes against humanity, no matter how uncomfortable that process of reflection may be.” Reparations, though sometimes seen as a complex term, simply refer to measures taken to acknowledge, address, and compensate for historical injustices and systemic harms inflicted on marginalised communities. Such measures are crucial for addressing historical wrongs, promoting economic equity, fostering restoration and healing, preventing future harm, and upholding moral responsibility. To learn more about reparations, the measures involved, and how Global North countries can finance these efforts, consult the report compiled by our experts at The Advocacy Team in collaboration with Development Reimagined ⤵️ https://lnkd.in/dYd5VvvM
