Entry level Salary offered by IT firms in 2003-04: around 2.5-3Lakhs. Entry level Salary in 2022: around 3-3.5Lakhs. Inflation every year is around 6-7%. Yet FD is where 58% of Indians have invested. FD is safe FD ensure liquidity FD return doesn't go negative But FD doesn't beat inflation. FD won’t make you wealthy So, a few months back, I started calling my friends and made them invest in ETFs, as small as 500rs per month. It helped them in 2 ways: - One who didn’t have any savings, started to have a saving plan for them now - Secondly, that constant green and red movement, keeps them interested and they explore more about the markets. Look, I obviously know Rs500 or Rs2000 is a very small amount, and initially, you might even not see any significant return. But, it’s about the little belief to find something other than FD, to help your money grow. #personalfinance #investing

Hello LinkedIn family, If you are in Bangalore and looking for a house on rent, beware of NoBroker.com managed properties. These are the properties in which there is a mediator between you and the owner who calls himself a property manager. Why you should avoid such properties? 1. Even though there is a property manager assigned but no one hold accountability of any cleaning, painting or pest control. How would you feel if you are moving in tomorrow and the property is not cleaned, painted at all? 2. In such situation, property manager will stall you by saying - I’ll speak to the owner about it. But then nothing concrete happens. 3. The property manager is there to safe guard owner’s interest which is to get rent on time and if tenant does not pay rent then penalise him with extra money but there is absolutely nothing for tenant if things go south. 4. Even if you request to talk to owner directly to discuss the issues, they propose that they will arrange a conference call which too never happens. 5. The property manager will chase you only until you pay the deposit. Once you do that their job is almost done. I have been the kind of tenant who pays rent on 1st of every month. After I moved out, I told my previous house owner to take his own time to return the deposit money. I even managed the painting and cleaning of his house after I moved out coz he does not live in Bangalore. But what do tenants like us get when they try NoBroker’s ecosystem? Nothing but getting stalled on each issue. At last the property manager said - “Oh sorry about that but it was not my responsibility to get the house cleaned or painted. Owner said he will do it. But then he didn’t pay to our maintenance team and hence the house didn’t get maintained”. I am not sure if the property manager is serious or mocking me. NoBroker.com might be a good platform and it might be solving a common problem which is paying heavy brokerage. But if the property is managed by NoBroker.com team, please avoid it. #byju's is cut off from telecom and cloud services. Service providers such as AWS and Vodafone idea have suspended their service due to BYJU's unpaid dues. 1. Byju has not paid AWS for the last 2 months. 2. They have not recharged commercial calling services from vodaphone since last month. according to anonymous sources hardly any teachers are doing online classes voluntarily as they are not compensated well. source: Yourstory Very sad to see a company which was very promising a few years back facing such a financial crisis. Recently at #PwC Interviewer asked this Interviewer: Find the Second Lowest Salary: Write an SQL query to find the second lowest salary from the employees table. Candidate: Absolutely, let’s walk through this step by step. To find the second lowest salary, we’ll approach it logically using SQL functions. Approach: Step 1: First, we will fetch all distinct salaries from the employees table. Step 2: Sort these salaries in ascending order. Step 3: Finally, select the second salary from this sorted list. SELECT DISTINCT salary FROM employees ORDER BY salary ASC LIMIT 1 OFFSET 1; Explanation: SELECT DISTINCT salary ensures that we only consider unique salary values. ORDER BY salary ASC sorts the salaries in ascending order, with the lowest at the top. LIMIT 1 OFFSET 1 skips the first (lowest) salary and returns the second one. A Zepto employee just exposed the company’s toxic culture on Reddit. - 2 AM meetings - 14-hour workdays - Overworked employees He added: “Sometimes I have to take medicines to stay up all night.” “Zepto hires junior employees because senior employees don’t want to work at such odd timings.” The employee pointed to the CEO Aadit Palicha as the problem factor, who apparently starts his workday at 2 PM and takes meetings at 2 AM. The poster got a lot of support on the platform, but Aadit himself didn’t seem to care. His public response on X: "I have nothing against work-life balance. In fact, I recommend it to all our competitors :)” I think this normalisation of toxic work culture in the name of ‘hustle’ in a startup environment needs to stop. I spoke to HR in Bangalore, they are on hiring spree. But before you get too excited, here's the catch 😅 let me tell you that all the open roles have salary range pre 2020 😰 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞:  React Native 2-4 years 6-9 LPA ReactJS Developer 2-4 years 8-10 LPA Model of working in 5 days onsite 🏢 Medical insurance + PF both side deduction from salary 🤕 I was like either you are unaware of market condition in India or you need a "𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐫" 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨 😜 . Even if you manage to hire now, they'll likely leave for a better offer soon. I'm stunned by this HR strategy. 𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 1. Lack of market research and business advice. 2. or business isn't listening to HR. Next time when you get into HR negotiation keep these figures in mind. PS: Used the12% PF deduction, 50% basic salary for calculation.

I gained a solid understanding of market expectations after going through Ayush Singh's notion link. I constantly compared whether I had covered all the topics required to achieve that 25 LPA salary. And guess what? I did it. I reached the 25 LPA bracket after working for 3 LPA (3 years back). I duplicated his notion and added a few more cards, which really helped me excel in interviews. Infosys & TCS Fresher Pay in 2012: ~2.75 Lakhs per Annum Can you guess how much it is now? In 2022, → It was 3.6 Lakhs per Annum. (And if you ask around a similar pay is floating around in 2024). That is a horrendous growth rate of 30% in 12 years! A CAGR of less than 3%. Okay let’s try to put this in perspective, Inflation Check (assuming 7% inflation): → 2.75 Lakhs in 2012, → Is 5.5 Lakhs in 2022. It hasn't even grown close to Inflation rates. Let's take a look at a different metric; Company Growth: → Infosys Stock Price in 2011 ~ INR 300 → Infosys Stock Price in 2024: INR 1898 More than a 6x growth. CAGR of 20%. And still, almost no growth was shared with the freshers. And what’s worse, as per a tweet on Twitter (link in the comments): → No overtime payments → Payments for Training Period → Food & Amenities are only subsidized And on top of all this, → We hear news of 70-hour work weeks. → And that the youth are not working enough. The culture needs to be changed. But we are far from it. The best we can do is realize that situations like this persist, And start taking steps of our own: → Generate Secondary sources of Income (Monetize your skills) → Budget and Invest early → Upskill and look for growth opportunities → Don’t expect your company to do things for you What are your thoughts on this trend?
