"Powering prosperity around the world means solving financial challenges with intelligence and precision." – Anusha Mujumdar, PhD, Senior Manager of Data Science and AI, Intuit. At Cypher 2024, Anusha Mujumdar introduced Intuit’s revolutionary approach to AI-driven insights for financial technology customers. She explained how advanced machine learning transforms complex financial data into actionable intelligence, making data analysis accessible and empowering small and medium businesses. Intuit’s platform autonomously generates insights by identifying patterns that are statistically significant, relevant, and robust. It processes vast amounts of data daily, including 65 billion ML predictions, $2 trillion in invoice processing, and 106 billion consumer tax refunds. Key innovations include hierarchical data representation, intelligent search, and machine learning-driven insight generation. To address challenges like multidimensional complexity and personalization, Intuit developed versatile kernels such as Trend, Anomaly, and Forecasting. These kernels uncover trends, detect anomalies, and project financial metrics. Insights generated are driving a 10% increase in user activity, proactive financial guidance, and personalized support through Intuit Assist, a conversational AI assistant. Mujumdar’s presentation demonstrated how AI simplifies financial complexity, enabling small businesses to make confident, informed decisions. Intuit’s innovative platform is transforming financial technology and empowering customers globally.

"While 2023 was a year of exploration, 2024 will be the year of action, where AI’s real-world impact will truly begin to unfold," said Biswajit Biswas, Chief Data Scientist at Tata Elxsi, at Cypher 2024. He highlighted how Generative AI (GenAI) is transforming manufacturing by enhancing efficiency, precision, and innovation, with applications like inventory management, assembly line inspection, and digital twins. Biswas emphasized the shift from static AI models to dynamic systems like Large Action Models (LAMs), which integrate physical actions and continuous learning. Key solutions include deploying AI at the edge for faster processing, using expert models for precision, and leveraging GenAI to simplify complex data. Looking ahead, Biswas predicted autonomous agents will dominate AI architectures by 2025, with human oversight remaining essential for safety and ethical considerations.

"It’s about using AI to give quality back to our lives, not just to work," said Shalvi Chitkara, COO of Data and AI at Genpact, in her keynote at Cypher 2024. She outlined a roadmap for AI adoption, focusing on technology, talent, and cultural transformation. Chitkara emphasized three pillars of AI readiness: solving real business problems with business-driven technology, ensuring robust data architecture with high-quality, structured data, and prioritizing AI governance with ethical frameworks and regulatory compliance. The biggest barrier to AI adoption, she noted, is human fear. Organizations must embrace AI as integral to workflows, foster an AI-literate workforce, and create a culture of experimentation supported by visionary leadership and psychological safety. With $330 billion invested in AI over three years and a projected $16 trillion economic impact by 2030, Chitkara stressed that AI’s true value lies in unlocking human potential. Organizations aligning technology, talent, and culture will lead the next wave of innovation.
