After the loss of her husband, she became the sole provider for her two young children, embodying resilience and determination. Today, as a Nutrition Buddy under the Prabhat Nutrition Program, Yogita is rewriting the narrative—not just for herself but for her entire community. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, she is transforming child health and empowering families in tribal settlements in Sinnar. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed. Sir Chris Hohn's September visit was an opportunity for us to build and celebrate several incredibly meaningful partnerships that advance our mission. We had the opportunity to renew our long-standing partnerships with the Medical, Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Rajasthan, marking a significant achievement in our efforts to improve maternal and child health. This partnership aims to reduce mortality rates and enhance health and nutrition outcomes across the region.  During his visit, Chris witnessed firsthand the transformative power of our collaborative partnerships, and the impactful interventions we have been supporting the Rajasthan government with to reduce low-birth weight. These include use of a) AI and internet-of-things (IoT) for better health and nutrition outcomes, b) Cash transfers and comprehensive BCC for pregnant women for purchasing locally available nutritious meals, c) Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) meetings aimed at empowering women to identify and address their own health challenges, and d) Addressing the challenge of anaemia in pregnant women. Having witnessed the effectiveness of these programs, it was very heartening to see Chris’ eagerness to scale them not just across India, but globally. Prabhat Nutrition Initiative implemented by IPE CKD in Sinnar, Nashik awarded the best Nutrition project under the Prabhat program by Hindustan Unilever Limited. The award was given during the 11th anniversary of Prabhat Nutrition Initiative. Vidya Bhooshan Singh, Team Urban, joined as a panelist for the Integrated Waste Management Workshop in Jammu, organised by the Centre for Environment Education (CEE) and HDFC Bank project in partnership with Jammu Municipal Corporation. He emphasized the indispensable role of waste pickers, who recover 60-80% of recyclable materials globally, including 1.5 million workers in India alone. Highlighting the NAMASTE Scheme, implemented by the National Safai Karmachari Finance Corporation (NSKFC) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, he stressed the importance of providing waste pickers with access to financing, technology, and welfare schemes. The scheme also includes occupational safety and skill development programs to enhance their capabilities, as well as health insurance through Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY to ensure their well-being. The other key members include Ms. Mandeep Kaur Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development, J&K, Sh. #SAMVEG @RMNCAH Programme Review, South-East Asia   USAID-supported SAMVEG project led the Regional Workshop on Strengthening Capacity for Short Programme Review of RMNCAH Programmes, held from 10-13 December 2024 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Reaching the Underserved: SHWP Training for Madrasa Teachers Under Project Astitva IPE Global CKD, in collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), has kick-started a series of #training for #Madrasa school teachers under Project Astitva. Astitva aims to strengthen the School Health and Wellness Programme (SHWP) and extend its reach to the most underserved areas and communities. The five-day training workshop, conducted by a team of master trainers from Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, focuses on equipping teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to integrate the #SHWP effectively. The first batch of 45 teachers began the training programme in Jaipur today. M.D. Chopdar, Chairman of the Madrasa Board, Government of Rajasthan, addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of #education. He encouraged participants to implement the insights gained from the training in their schools. The sessions are #participatory, with ice-breaking sessions and group activities to enhance participants' engagement.
