#TheAISummit in #NY this week was bigger and better than last year, reflecting the incredible progress that is happening in #AI and in particular in #GenAI. Here are my 5 key takeaways: 1. AI is going from “pilots to production” and that was reflected in the focus on AI@Scale, a topic on which I had a fascinating panel discussion with Federico Cohen Freue , Miguel Olarte , Devavrat Shah and Abbie Lundberg 2. #DataManagement continues to be the key imperative for operationalizing AI@Scale. A topic on which I gave a #keynote address 3. Tremendous progress in Gen AI headlined by new releases by both OpenAI and Google Cloud with a focus on #multimodal, bringing text, images, audio and video together mimicking human interactions even more deeply 4. Two areas which I felt needed to be addressed more clearly - focus on #customer problems and #business value, and on delivering #ROI, which I think will become even more of an issue as we get to AI@Scale 5. It was good to see number of discussions on the #FutureOfAI but their focus is still relatively short-term. The medium-long term is filled with both amazing possibilities (e.g., new value creation opportunities) and some scary challenges (e.g., job losses), which needs lot more thoughtful research and discussions. Finally, a big shout out for my team at Incedo Inc. We had a very vibrant presence with lot of interest in our #DataandAI solutions - #LightHouse, #BrainSpark and #DataModernizationToolkit. My books #MasteringTheDataParadox and #WinningInTheDigitalAge were well received. And, we had lots of thoughtful discussions with clients, prospective clients and industry peers.
