Take a look at this picture. It was taken today at our Salesforce offices in Tel-Aviv. It shows a few dozens of Salesforce Israel employees in one of our regular all-hands meetings. What's so special about that? Well, that picture was taken exactly 36 hours after Iran launched a massive aerial strike against Israel with 100s of UCAVs, ballistic and cruise missiles carrying about 60 tons(!) of explosives. Thanks to the Israeli Air force, the air forces of the US, UK, France, Jordan and others *and* Israeli innovation and engineering talent who developed the most advanced multi-layered air defense systems in the world - luckily that attack ended up with relatively low impact. It was a sleepless night for all us in Israel who got an advanced notice of the attack and basically spent that night bracing for impact. Now take another look at this picture. 36 hours later - People showing up at the office, talking to each other, having a few laughs, having meetings, discussing deadlines, solving business problems, discussing engineering problems, doing demos, having coffee and lunch together, having an all-hands meeting together. 36 hours ago we were bracing for impact of 60 tons of explosives that were about to fall out of the sky. 𝐃𝐨 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧? 🥓 Google invests billions in 🇮🇱 Israeli technologies and companies. Some of Google's (or Alphabet Inc.'s) largest acquisitions have been Israeli innovations, from Waze ($1.3Bn acquisition in 2013) to Wiz ($23Bn acquisition discussions in 2024). Yet, the 𝑩𝑫𝑺 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕, which promotes boycotting 🇮🇱 Israeli products, happily uses Google services to spread their message. For instance, the 𝐍𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐩𝐩, which helps consumers avoid Israeli products in supermarkets, has over 1 million downloads. Ironically, these users are consuming ads and paying Google for the privilege, all while using the 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐎𝐒, another Alphabet Inc. product. This contradiction reveals a lack of a moral compass guiding the BDS movement. It's all about convenience. They boycott Israeli canned goods, fresh produce, and other small items but rely on Israeli technology to identify products to boycott! As a carnivore, I used to love cheese and crackers, couldn't resist the smell of bacon, and enjoyed all kinds of cakes. But as a vegan, none of those appeal to me anymore because I refrain from eating animal products. I commend people who devote themselves to a specific way of life they believe in. However, I think a lot less of those, like BDS supporters, who make noise but don't follow through with their convictions. FUN FACT - Israel's 🍉 Watermelon harvest is greater than any other Middle Eastern (Arab) country and 6X Palestinian production (89M tons). 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥, or don't. Love Jews, or don't. I don't care either way. Just make up your mind and follow through. If you're a vegan, don't eat bacon. 🌱

Salesforce Acquires an Israeli Data Management Provider ​​for $450 Million Zoomin, an Israeli startup that offers tools for processing unstructured data, was acquired by Salesforce. Zoomin developed a content delivery platform that makes it possible to process unstructured data to make it more accessible to AI models and systems. Among Zoomin’s customers there are Dell Technologies and Mastercard. Salesforce will integrate Zoomin’s technology to equip its AI-driven autonomous service chatbots with the capability to provide personalized answers to customers’ needs. - Salesforce was one of the initial investors in Zoomin, making a strategic investment in the company in 2018. - To date, Zoomin, founded in 2016 by Gal Oron, Joe Gelb and Hannan Saltzman, raised about $73 million in venture capital. Google is getting close to a record $23 billion deal to acquire Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz. According to the story, Alphabet, the parent company of Google, is reportedly in "advanced talks" to acquire Wiz, a company based in #NewYork. This would be the largest #acquisition of an Israeli tech company and double Alphabet's largest acquisition to yet, which was the $12.5 billion purchase of Motorola in 2012. The publication pointed out that the possible transaction would occur at a time when startups have been leery of mergers and acquisitions because of fears of antitrust monitoring, and that Google is looking to strengthen its cloud computing company, for which Wiz supplies cybersecurity. Assaf Rappaport, Yinon C., Ami Luttwak, and Roy R.-launched Wiz in early 2020. This same team founded Adallom, which Microsoft acquired in 2015 for $320 million. They oversaw the Cloud Security Group for Microsoft Azure as well. Forty percent of the Fortune 100 firms, including Slack, Mars, BMW, DocuSign, Plaid, and Agoda, are among its clientele. Since October 7, Israeli tech companies have really stepped up in some impressive ways, demonstrating resilience and innovation in the face of adversity. Today we decided to share some impactful initiatives: * Cybersecurity Boost With everyone on high alert, companies like Check Point Software Point and CyberArk have offered free trials of their cybersecurity tools to help protect important systems. They've been working hand in hand with the police to tighten up national security. * Mental Health Support Understanding the emotional toll, platforms like Myndlift and Telesofia Medical have expanded their telehealth services. They’re making online therapy more accessible so that anyone can find the mental health support they need during this tough time. * Aid and Relief Apps Startups have created apps that connect volunteers with local organizations that need help. Companies like Wix and Fiverr are making it super easy for people to pitch in and lend a hand. * Backing Local Businesses Apps like Buy Local have been developed to help consumers discover and support nearby shops, fostering a sense of community resilience. Venture capital firms and fintech companies established funds to provide low-interest loans and financial guidance to struggling businesses. OurCrowd launched initiatives to help local entrepreneurs secure funding more easily. * Community Building Networking groups are gathering to share resources and brainstorm recovery strategies. Organizations like Startup Nation Central and TechAviv are creating spaces for people to come together and discuss how to support one another. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝗿𝗮𝗲𝗹𝗶 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 Google '𝘀 𝗔𝗜-𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 Fifteen companies have been selected to participate in the "Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First" program, including three innovative startups from Israel. This 10-week program, developed in partnership with Google Cloud and Google DeepMind, aims to support the growth and development of AI-driven startups. The Israeli startups selected are: Bagel.ai (Yakum, Israel): This company helps product teams continuously quantify and validate their roadmaps, maximize impact, and accelerate revenue. Dtect Vision (Tel Aviv, Israel): Focused on combating misinformation in the finance sector, Dtect Vision uses AI to detect deepfake videos, audio, and content. Geneyx Genomex Ltd. (Herzliya, Israel): An AI-powered bioinformatics platform, Geneyx provides solutions for managing clinical genetics data across multi-omics fields. In addition to mentorship from Google AI experts, the startups will also receive Google Cloud credits to support their development. Congratulations to all startups!
