Great accomplishment to our cyber ecosystem, Eleven Israeli startups are featured in the Rising in Cyber list, which highlights the most promising cyber companies in the U.S. https://risingincyber.com/ The project was organized by the global venture capital fund Notable Capital, in cooperation with the NewYork Stock Exchange, Fenwick, and HSBC Innovation Banking. The list includes: Gomboc.ai , Oligo Security , and Wing Security among the 10 early-stage companies; Astrix Security, Descope , and Grip Security at the mid-stage; and Cyera , Drata , Island , Orca Security , and Wiz at the growth stage. The Rising in Cyber survey of more than 100 security leaders revealed three innovation drivers needed by security teams to adapt to a growing footprint of technologies, the rise of AI, and the evolving sophistication of cyber criminals. These themes provide a glimpse into the future buying patterns of CISOs. 1. Identity and Access Management The rise of non-human actors and identity-centric, malware-free attacks, which accounted for 75% of incidents in 2023, highlights the urgent need for robust identity and access management (IAM) solutions. Startups are stepping up with next-generation Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), new authentication platforms, and privileged access management tools. 2. Cloud Security With the transition to multi-cloud architectures, traditional security tools remain inadequate for cloud environments. Innovations in cloud detection and response, data security, automation, risk management, and AI threat detection are becoming essential. 3. Application and Code Security The widespread use of open-source code introduces new vulnerabilities, while AI supercharges product security teams. Startups enabling collaboration between developers and security teams are leading the way, with AI improving code remediation and testing.

As Israel celebrates its 76th Independence Day, the amazing guys at the Mamram Alumni Foundation have produced a collection of tips for founders, by founders. It's in Hebrew, but let me translate my own part for the benefit of my English reader friends. Obviously, every journey will be different, and the only constant will be change, so enjoy it! 1. Surround yourself with people you can trust blindly. Co-founders, managers, and team leaders. People that share that excitement and passion for what you are building and are ready to do whatever it takes. 2. Put the customer at the center. It's easy to get excited about something you are building, but always remember there is a customer on the other side that needs to see the value and use it. Always get feedback from customers, so you are aligned with what they need. 3. Don't forget to breathe. This journey is more like a rollercoaster - with ups, downs, and rapid changes. Do yourself and your team a favor and remember to take a moment to recharge. Set ambitious, yet achievable goals, and enjoy the ride. If it's not fun - why doing it? Now the Article: Insights from the 'Tech Vs. Hate' Seminar of Cyber and AI Week I am deeply honored to have participated in the "Tech Vs. Hate" seminar during Tel Aviv University's AI Week TLV and Cyber Week TLV. This important event addressed the alarming rise of online antisemitism and showcased how innovative technology can combat this age-old hatred. Antisemitism experts, such as Avi Mayer (אבי מאיר), Carole Nuriel, and Michal Cotler-Wunsh, Adv., emphasized the serious real-world consequences of online hate speech, noting that "words turn into deeds." They highlighted the importance of proactive policies and technological solutions to prevent the spread of hate. Innovators like Tal-Or Cohen Montemayor from CyberWell and Stav Cohen Lasri from Savee.AI demonstrated how AI can identify and counteract antisemitic content. Maya S. from EverC explained methods to disrupt the financial networks supporting hate groups, which are often also related to terrorism. I presented the power of #GenAI to fight antisemitism in detection, content, and education, creating empathy and compassion. The Israeli Tech Review for Q2 is out, demonstrating resilience of the Tech eco-systems, entrepreneurs & startups (i.e. Unicamels). Few Insights: - Investments in Israeli startups continue to increase demonstrating a 19% growth compared to H2/2023. - Total of $3.036B were raised by startups in 114 rounds. - Early stage investments of Q2 compared to Q1 are stable, there is an increase compared to H1/2023. - Leading sectors in terms of $ raised are cyber (66%), IoT (14%), Fintech (11%), Automotive & FoodTech. - Exits in H1 amount to $8.283B in 53 deals (mostly M&As & Buyouts). - H1/2024 Exits amount is higher then H1/2023 and H2/2024. What I am missing: - More active Israeli investors!, currently foreign investors are more active the Israeli ones. - New sectors maturity as future building blocks for the future, such as AI, FoodTech, AgTech, Climatech, BioTech, HealthTech and many others. What you are seeing is a mistake. It must be. Adobe is a great company, but even the great ones make mistakes. I was trying out Adobe Podcast to enhance the audio quality of my podcast. - The Engagement Lab, with Yahav Levy as my co-host (it is in Hebrew). The freemium allows up to 30-minute-long audio files; my episode was 40 minutes long. So what do I do? Upgrade. This is an excellent example of how setting your freemium/premium threshold can encourage upgrades. Anyhow, I click the upgrade and get the attached "give me your money" paywall. That's fine. That's what I expected... in a way. I was expecting access to Adobe Podcast, not Adobe Express. You know what, that's fine. Maybe Adobe Express is the better deal for me. But, What is it? In what way is it better for me? I'm a podcaster, not a designer... So, excuse me if I don't know what Adobe Express is! And even with all that empty space on the paywall, Adobe didn't find it necessary to mention it. And that's the mistake. Now what? Should I go off-tab to search for an explanation of what Adobe Express is? See if it's worth my buck. Or should I search for an alternative? Adobe Podcasters are not your usual customers. They may not know what Adobe Express is. A Podcaster subscription is a better fit for them, but if that's not doable... Could you tell them what they'll get for the Express subscription? Now, you don't need me to tell you that. I just wanted to bring your attention to this. But also use this opportunity as a lesson for those just starting their startup. A paywall is not a technical thing. It should be the beginning of a relationship. It's almost like a first date. Could you make it feel special?
