🌟 Main takeaways from the 2024 Public Relations Global Network #PRGN Conference in Hong Kong! 🌟 How can I share all the great highlights from this conference held last week in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. Thanks to Joanne Chan and her team we discovered the fascinating sides of HK and better understand the complexity of this region. Thanks to the contribution of all, we discussed about business strategies, innovations drivers, key trends among agencies from all over the world. We adressed the challenges and opportunities in the PR & PA industry, with the eyes of experts. Michael Diegelmann from cometis (Germany) presented an insightful session on tackling corporate greenwashing and the crucial role of transparent communications in building genuine sustainability efforts. We had a lively discussion on the EU #AI act exploring its implications for PR agencies and the future of AI in our industry. We openly challenge the ties among the EU & Asian countries, calling for more mutual understanding over boundaries. Navigating APAC’s Media Landscape, we explored the diverse and dynamic media and social media environment in the APAC region, highlighting strategies for effective engagement and communication. We discussed about crisis and issue management with a deep dive into contemporary crisis management techniques, emphasizing agility and adaptability in our rapidly changing world. Thanks to the work achieved by our past president Andy See, with our strategic plan for the future, PRGN is the proud 5th largest network of independent communication agencies covering 44 countries. This amazing work could not have been achieved without the support of our executive director Gabor Jelinek. I will pursue this strategic dynamic move as the new president. The conference has been a fantastic platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and setting the stage for the future of PR and PA. Pleasantly surprised that CNA published this commentary. Good to see a robust discussion on this divestment, which included critical viewpoints on an organisation closely linked to the government. Tan Suee Chieh makes a compelling point: "This understanding was breached in less than two years after Income Insurance corporatised. With this broken trust as a backdrop, it's hard to take any further commitments seriously." I would also like to add that NTUC Enterprise’s reassurance rings hollow. Chairman Lim Boon Heng said it will be an active shareholder, and continue to push for Income Insurance’s social mission. Active but minority is usually ineffective. Some pointed out that Income Insurance has shifted to market pricing and is no longer the cheapest insurance company in town. This is true. However, the continued control of NTUC Enterprise gives the assurance that it can step in to “regulate” when there is a market failure, e.g. certain insurances not priced fairly or not provided adequately by the market. For instance, Fairprice's role in stabilising prices and ensuring product availability during the COVID-19 pandemic.

[Bridging the Financial Literacy Gap] Vietnam's rapid economic growth is increasingly powered by a shift towards digital financial solutions, reflecting a broader trend across Asia. The rise of cashless transactions, and increasing in credit use, is reshaping how nationwide consumers interact with the financial sector. This digital shift, while opening doors to convenience and financial integration, also brings forth challenges, particularly in terms of financial literacy and the management of credit risks.
