Food loss and waste is a global challenge occurring from the time seeds are sown to when the final products end up in the trash. It is a multifaceted problem that requires a collective effort, from farmers, factories, restaurants, governments, and all actors of the food values chain to consumers. Our researchers are innovating to help tackle this problem: Digital farming technologies such as soil sensors and satellites are helping to preemptively diagnose and treat various threats to crops before they take hold - helping prevent crop loss from the start. In addition, we offer farmers new varieties of seeds, along with crop protection tools, to help more crops make it off the farm. #HealthForAll #HungerForNone

#Sustentabilidad #ImpactoPositivo #SembrandoVidas #BayerConoSur

Join us for our LinkedIn Live discussion on December 16, where we will explore how to shape climate action and rethink resilience in a world beyond 1.5 degrees. The session will feature Mojib Latif, Senior Professor at GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel and President of the German Association Club of Rome, along with Matthias Berninger, EVP of Public Affairs, Sustainability & Safety at Bayer. Despite decades of global climate summits, including the recent COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, emissions continue to rise, and scientists warn that the Paris Agreement's 1.5-degree target is effectively out of reach. What does this mean for our approach to climate action? What changes are needed in global governance and cooperation? Do we need to reframe our understanding of climate action and how we communicate about it? You are warmly invited to join and ask questions during the live stream! Join our event here:

While you likely know that family history, age, lifestyle, reproductive history, and hormones are risk factors, our latest study shows only 31% of women are aware that high breast density is a risk factor for breast cancer. That is why it is so important to raise awareness about self-breast exams and screening options. So don’t wait, empower yourself with knowledge and talk to your doctor about regular check-ups for your health and well-being: https://lnkd.in/gPYXmxGF #BayerInRadiology #BreastCancer

Did you hear? A breakthrough gene-editing tool will help our planet cope with climate change. And it is already happening at the intersection of innovation and agriculture. 🌾 CRISPR, the groundbreaking gene-editing tool co-developed by Jennifer Doudna, is transforming the future of farming. By precisely editing DNA, we can now create crops like short-stature corn—resistant to powerful storms—and CoverCress that captures carbon dioxide while producing biofuel. Chavonda Jacobs-Young, USDA’s chief scientist, said it best: “We need high-tech tools… to ensure a safe, abundant, delicious, and affordable food supply.” As we face the twin challenges of climate change and a growing population, these advances are crucial. And Bayer is heeding the call to harness science to build a more resilient future. 🌱 Read the article for more insights: https://lnkd.in/eheWQzz9 #CRISPR #ShortStatureCorn #CoverCress #AgricultureInnovation #HealthForAll #HungerForNone
