Please join us in congratulating Barometer Ambassador Committee member, PD Dr. Tina Herold, who drew an impressive crowd at the 122nd congress of the German Ophthalmological Society (DOG) in Berlin in October, presenting a poster titled “Patients’ and doctors’ perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of nAMD care: German results of the nAMD Barometer survey”. PD Dr. Tina Herold and her co-authors Prof. Robert Finger, Prof. Albrecht Lommatzsch and Prof. Focke Ziemssen identified uncertainties in patients’ understanding of long-term treatment strategies as a barrier to adherence for patients in Germany with retinal disease. To ensure that patients in your clinic have access to consistent, accurate, and timely information, download our information brochures for patients with nAMD at time of diagnosis (https://lnkd.in/eBwAtjjs), treatment initiation (https://lnkd.in/eFFHk7wr) , and after 3 months of treatment (https://lnkd.in/eX8qVQfa). #PowerOfCollaboration #namd

This December, as we celebrate the United States #SafeToysandCelebrationsMonth, let's prioritize eye safety. At Bayer Ophthalmology, we recognize the joy that toys and games bring during the holiday season. But we also know the importance of ensuring they’re safe for play. Also, watch out for those popping champagne corks, keep adults and children safe alike and don’t let eye safety slide over the holiday time.1 Check out below some essential safety tips.

#InternationalSharpsInjuryPreventionAwarenessMonth is focused on prevention of medical sharps injuries in the healthcare setting, yet safety for home carers and patients is also paramount. So, let’s focus on protecting you and your loved ones. Each year many people are seriously injured from contact with discarded needles in household waste.1 If you’re managing your health at home or you are a carer for someone who is and you need to use medical sharps like needles or lancets, safety truly matters. It goes without saying, but always keep medical sharps away from your eyes. Please see some tips below but do follow the instructions given by your healthcare provider and reach out to them with any questions. Always be sharps smart and stay in the know. #SharpsSafety #EyeCare #PatientSafety
