A lifetime dream came true when I joined the advisory group for the autistic women's experiences in the #Workplace research study led by Dr Yani Hamdani from University of Toronto. I have a confession to make... After reading Kat's book Beyond Illusion, my favourite response to skeptical questions from my coaching clients is going to be, "Did you do your homework?" Let me explain why! Beyond Illusion addresses two primary audiences: skeptics and philosophers seeking the truth of life, and service providers in the fields of nonduality and spirituality, such as coaches, trainers, therapists, and authors. I personally identify with both groups. As a nondual author, I found this book thoroughly enjoyable. Katrijn tackles complex topics with a natural and beautiful clarity. Her way of writing already illuminates how one could approach life in a complete and unfettered way, cutting straight to the core of how things are. A comforting insight from the book is that the separate self is not portrayed as an enemy to be conquered. Katrijn acknowledges its apparent existence. The book enables you to see the confusion between the separate self and our true essence more clearly. For coaches and authors like myself, this book is incredibly useful. You can recommend it to skeptical clients without needing to create your own scientific explanations of nonduality, saving you time and potential frustration. Even if the illusion of separateness seems obvious to you, this book still offers refreshing perspectives and insightful quotes. It serves as a valuable reminder of nondual insights, allowing you to appreciate what may have become familiar. Refreshing these insights will help in guiding others on their path to self-discovery. If you're a nondual coach, don’t make your life more difficult. I recommend purchasing multiple copies to offer to your new clients, particularly the skeptical ones! This book enhances your approach and empowers you to fully embrace your distinctive style. After sharing a copy, you'll find yourself less often thrown back by your clients' doubts. Instead, you can playfully ask them, "Did you do your homework? ;-)"

A time to be thankful for all things - even the small gestures matter. Wishing you a Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving from all of us at Clear Concept! 🍁 Gratitude helps us shift our perspective in powerful ways and leads to many health benefits, including improvements in our sleep, our relationships, and our overall wellbeing. When we practice gratitude, it doesn’t mean we don’t see anything wrong. Instead, gratitude helps us see what IS right and what has been there all along. Still, it can be a challenge some days to find what we are grateful for, and to express that sense of gratitude. 💌 Here are 5 simple acts we can use to give others - and ourselves - the gift of gratitude. 1 - Greet people with enthusiasm Let them know you’re grateful to see them with your words, tone and expression. We all appreciate a warm greeting. 2 - Catch people doing things right While it’s tempting to point out opportunities for improvement, when you focus on success, you boost motivation. 3 - Begin team meetings with appreciation and praise for others Encourage everyone to acknowledge others who have helped them out. This can be incredibly uplifting. 4 - Write a personalized thank you note 5 - Pay attention to the details - and listen Try to remember events, ideas and places that are important to them. When you come across something of interest, share it. And sometimes, simply pausing to truly to listen to someone can be the best gift of all.
