Meet Avery! 👋 Avery has been with Vollmer for 4.5 years now as a Mechanical Estimator. He's actually the first in his family to enter the construction/mechanical contractor industry but that doesn't mean he doesn't have role models. Avery says he's especially enjoyed meeting and working with Vollmer’s accomplished and experienced employees both in the field and in the office who make Vollmer a great place to work. Avery's favourite part about the job is the variety, he says "In my position here at Vollmer we see the project through to completion (Estimate to Management) and work on projects across all sectors of the industry. Each day comes with new problems to solve, new people to meet and new opportunities to learn."

Meet Ryan! 👷♂️ He’s a General Foreman and has been with us for 14 years! His days typically entail participating in meetings to forward plan projects and being on-site monitoring “real-time progression” of the job. As for role models, Ryan says he has had many who he’s looked up to over the years but most significantly, his father, who originally encouraged him to get into the industry. As a general foreman, you’re typically working on projects for long periods of time so to him, the best part about a project is “when you get to turn the power on for the first time, and see a building or system really come to life.” #VollmerInc #WeAreVollmerInc #trades

Jeff, a Network Cabling Specialist, is splicing Fibre Optic Cables for Internet Service Providers in each suite at Harmony Condos. Meet Hayley, a steam/pipe fitter here at Vollmer Inc. 👩🏭 Hayley decided to pursue this trade when she was in her early twenties, not wanting to follow a path that landed her behind a desk, she signed up at BCIT and was exposed to different piping trades. Now after having some time both in the shop and out in the field, Hayley says "Hands down, my favourite part is working in the fab shop. I love the pace. I really enjoy working with a skilled welder, fabricating piping systems and building off spool drawings." Although she's in the early stages of her career Hayley says deciding to follow this path was "one of the best decisions I have ever made." 🛠️ #VollmerInc #WomeninTrades
