As 2024 comes to an end, it is great to see ECSA once again among Lloyd's List Top 10 most influential organisations in ⚓ 🚢 regulation for 2024. This is all thanks to the extraordinary commitment of our team and the great support of our members 💪 💪 💪! Security and the unprecedented geopolitical uncertainty, the competitiveness of the industry and the energy transition of our economy will shape the policy debate in Brussels and beyond in the upcoming year. European shipping plays a key role in enhancing our continent’s security and can support and benefit from the uptake of clean tech and fuels. This can only be achieved if the European companies, which represent almost 40% of the global fleet, stay internationally competitive. We know that sometimes the ECSA team can be creatively chaotic, but can turn things around fast 😊. Bit by bit, it can turn ideas born on a napkin, into good new policies. Cheers to the great ECSA team Katalin Dobránszky-Bartus, PhD, Luisa Puccio, Fanny Lossy, Evina Fotiadou, Marius Dejarnac, Ulrik Alexander Tønnesen, Lasse Qvist, Marleen Orband, Linn Söderpalm and Eurico Ortiga for this achievement! Big thanks to the ECSA Presidency Karin Orsel, Mikki Koskinen and Philippos Philis for their invaluable support! https://lnkd.in/dpXBPXcV

Dialogue is important. This applies to many aspects of life. I imagine most would agree with that statement. And it certainly applies to the workplace, and the European labor market. Employers, unions, governments, and authorities need a continuous dialogue about many crucial labor market issues that affect us all in our daily lives. That is why I am very happy to be spokesperson for EUROPEAN COMMUNITY SHIPOWNER'S ASSOCIATIONS in the Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Maritime Transport in Brussels. Not the sexiest name, granted. But the issues we discuss here together with Sascha Meijer representing European Transport Workers' Federation are important. We are talking about skills and training, wellbeing, decent working conditions, decarbonisation, the new Commission’s priorities on maritime transport and much more. I firmly believe that it is important for a strong and socially cohesive Europe that these dialogues are maintained and strengthened. It’s good to talk.
