Caribbean leaders formed the Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator in 2017 to strengthen the region’s readiness and response to disasters. Our objective is to help transform the Caribbean economy through fast-tracking sound public and private investment opportunities, supporting climate action and economic growth. We are building more resilient countries, cities and industries through partnerships across the public and private sectors, with the goal of creating the world’s first climate smart zone. Our projects and partners drive sustainability and develop solutions that tackle climate change and prevent further damage.

She is advocating for a global south entity funded by the north to build capacity in assessing carbon credits fairly. “We have to be vigilant; we have to be vigilant on the safeguards that are required to ensure that the carbon credits that are entering the market are quality credits,” Ms. Moses said. She reiterated the need for vigilance to ensure high-quality carbon credits enter the market, stressing the importance of proving additionality, and advocating for fair pricing.
